Shame on the tossers at NVIDIA........I don't know what's going on lately we get one shtie drivers after an other - 190.38 has to be the worst bloody driver that NVIDIA has spit at us.

Sticking to 182.50 - Looks like universal drivers was a big f*cking mistake after all.... NVIDIA needs to seriously re-write their drivers and get it right once and for all !

They DO read the forums and they DO have official testers who DO report the bugs, but does NVIDIA listen ? NO.......... There ARE some positive aspects of 190.38 but on the other hand they spoil other features.

Shame on them for such sheer bloody incompetence.

186.18 and 190.38 both give me a rather odd issue. I run WoW at 1440x900...my desktop res is set to 1680x1050....when I exit WoW, I have to set my desktop res back to 1680x1050 because it gets changed to match the resolution I use for WoW.

Edited due to my stupidity >.>

For those having problems installing these drivers in Windows XP. I had to uninstall them and reboot into safe mode. Then use Driver Sweeper, to remove whatever else it found. Then I Installed while still in safe mode. You may not have to fallow my steps to the letter, but that should give you a general idea.

your video card probably lacks the multiple power states that the higher tier cards have.

You will have the power management control panel option one and only if your card have different performance levels say different 2d and 3d clocks!!! Else you wont have that option!

Are any of you guys that have studdering problems running power management mode in adaptive? If you run it in prefer maximum performance it might go away.I also noticed if you run it in performance mode the gpu doesnt downclock when you alt tab out of a game.

For the longest time, nvidi has always failed in proper power mode detection well atleast in Vista.

When viewing 1080p content on vista, the power mode goes to full 3d performance in XP it stays under low power 3d, I believe that the GTX285 can handle 1080p decoding even at 2d clocks, w/c isnt happening due to nvidia's poor power manangement state.

When viewing non HD content it also flys up to full power mode, having dream scene running also forces it full power mode.. with the 190.38 atleast it goes to 3d low power.

seems to be alot of comlaints about this version. does AA work on XP if you get rid of nHancer? and do you have to delete the NVapps.xml when you uninstall nhancer?

Mirror's edge (I love this game so it's important to me) issues:

Faith is STILL flickering in the arm/leg area...

And now a new issue, I start the game and at the menu it's really laggy and it still lags for about 5 seconds in-game then it's back to being smooth like normal again.

Also, AA doesn't seem to work even though I have it at 16xQ in-game.

Wtf Nvidia? I expect better out of WHQL.

Ok just installed these over the Beta's via a clean install. Much better, frames are top notch again, better than the 186.24's which I was using. Probably say around 20fps gains in L4D and 15ish on TF2 so far.

    anyway i posted again here - https://surveys.nvidia.com/index.jsp?pi=ad1c492c9d7488731f70e8d4356ba631
