About RivaTuner why don't you guys type it in Power User/RivaTuer/System/ForceDriverVersion 18585

It works fine for me. It still say not detected but overclock and fan stuff works.
But what is annoying me is context menu lag on desktop.

Halo2 is having problems with the graphics with these display drivers some textures are flashing and other are missing :( could it be because of the new model WDDM of windows 7?
my video is geforce 7300gt and i don't have any problems with other games.

just a guess disable SLI/one of the GPUs on the GX2 cards "if its possible", seems like the context menu lag is only on GX2 cards and sli

    Sorry for OFF.:nerd:
I'm using drivers ver. 3.0 that are WHQL, and are from Samsung. Installed them 7 months ago, when I installed Vista x64 SP1.
I found that this is monitor issue... hmmmm... sad.
OK, tnx for trying to help... hehe...

I tried that but still no luck :(
Otherwise good performance for my card. Gain some fps in Crysis & 3D Mark06.

It worked for me the same way like it did before, you just have to find the [nv_commonDisplayModes_addreg] instead of the other thing in older drivers.

And Put it under there instead, that what I had to do with both 185's.

these drivers seem to be pretty good for me

    evga 8800gts 640mb
    windows 7 rc (7100) x64

everything runs great, except HL1 games (dod 1.3, cstrike...) but i dont think its the drivers themselves.. probably win7... cause on xp i get 100fps constant still but when i boot to win7 it juggles around between 80-100 if theres nothing going on but once theres a few players on my screen it drops.. and if theres like 5+ ppl on the screen and some action going on it goes as low as 20-30 fps... kind of annoying that it runs so bad when newer games are running better maxed out (or near maxed out depending on the game)

Thats great I will give them a go. While we are talkin on edid overrides, do you know of a way to get an override to give full range color AND still allow for refresh rates such as 24hz etc. I am using an override string that only gives me 60hz....

On second thoughts maybe I am better sticking to 60hz as another "bug" in the drivers would then mean my games default to 24hz output mode (ie the lowest possible rather than highest). :puke2:

maybe RT2.23 isnt optimized to recognize 295GTX properly. Try 2.24 but the monitoring procedure is a bit different now, you have to click on each monitoring bar and than select to show on LCD.

I just found this fix over on the EVGA forums. As always back up your registry before doing any modification. I performed this myself on Vista 64 Ult and it worked perfectly to eliminate context menu delay. What I did was first delete the context key then create the command key. No reboot required to test.

    Navigate to

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex

Delete: NvCplDesktopContext key and all is good, now right click is fast as ever. If you need the Nvidia Controle Panale

all you have to do is select it from Programs and Features.

Ok now the fun part; for all of you who want the context menu this is how you add it back without the delay:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell

then Right click on Shell and add new Key: Name that key Nvidia Control Panel

Then Right Click on that new Key and add a new Key: Name this Key Command

Then with the new key Command selected in the right hand pane double click the Default Value Key and type:

    c:\windows\system32\nvcplui.exe

This will fix your Context issue....

This is how the key will look: (By the way you can copy all of that out and past in a text document and rename to .reg

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\Nvidia Control Panel]

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\Nvidia Control Panel\Command]
    @="c:\\windows\\system32\\nvcplui.exe"

Great drivers for me so far. Assasins Creed, Fallout3, DIRT and a few other games, no probs so far. Even HL2 which was problematic with earlier 185's is now OK.

I always laugh at those who may have the odd issues with a driver and who warn everyone else to stay away from them and declare that Nvidia fcked up and failed to deliver. TBH, even with the best drivers you will NEVER get unanimity, and those who assume a driver is no good because they had no luck with it and therefore is no good for everyone else just shows they dont have much experience with drivers to know any better. This is the nature of graphics drivers, the golden rule is that WHAT SUCKS FOR YOU MAY NOT SUCK FOR EVERYONE ELSE and vice versa. Sheesh.

I understand that my issue with these drivers may not be widespread, but I would like Nvidia to correct my problems with Rivatuner not detecting my card (for the first time EVER) and E:TW (graphical glitching and flickering upon startup*

Unfo I haven't noticed "up to 25%" increase in Riddick, but Fallout 3 and CoD 4 play very good. Stuttering menu on exit in CoD 4 has finally been fixed, for which I am thankful.
