u have to try it ursef. one may be good for a person bad for another. while most people are giving very positive reviews on the 178.13, to me it gives graphics corruption in crysis and pes2008. im on 177.92 with no probs.
Haven't fully tested out the 177.92, even tho it ran crysis pretty good. But the 178.13 are amazing for older games. New games i wouldn't know as of yet.
have vista 32 bit but the latest drivers (178.13) won't install get an error message in the middle of the install all the time amd x3 phenom asus en8800gt
Both work very well for me on two different setups; one XP32, one VistaX64 (8800GTS 512MB G92 on XP PC; GTX280 on Vista PC) 177.92 did not give any problems, I noticed on both setups. 178.13 installed now and the only glitch is already reported; DV not working correctly on XP32 setup, but fine on VistaX64 PC Satisfied with performance and IQ on both setups, no errors or crashes in games, as of yet. Currently playing Crysis Warhead, Stalker: CS and Mercenaries 2. Edit: Also installed on 2 other PC with XP32; one with 8800GTS 640MB G80 and the other with 8600GT 1024MB G92 Also no other problem on these except DV in 0/33/66/100 steps 'working'
The 178.13 whql don't work for my system. I play CoD4 alot and they give me low performance. Always going below 30 frames in heavy action, sometimes just in general. The 177.92 beta work great. I get the performance boost. Hardly ever drop below 40 frames. I am a little disappointed that a beta driver is better than whql. I thought that the 178.13 was just a whql driver of the 177.92 driver but it can't be. If it was, I would have got the same performance or better. I actually got worst or basically the same as before the 177.92 came out. My system:XP 32bit,SP2.
