3DMark and MKZ scores are about the same, but FluidMark increased by almost 800 points.

I think there will be another driver version soon... with OpenGL 3.0 support + PhysX, WHQL.

Seem pretty good so far, physx performance is considerably up, games seem to be running fine (so is 3dmark06) in Win XP x86 and Vista x64.

installed enabled openGL 3.0 with that utility, but i have a question thought, how do i know if its really enabled?

i checked with everest and opengl viewer 3.04 and still shows openGL 2.1.2

it says something that it will still show opengl 2.1.2, but i just want to make sure it is enabled lol.

what's this WGL_ARB_create_context WGL enterypoint how can i use it to see opengl 3.0 features? lol
    tnx

anyway this driver seems stable, i just tested Fear Combat and it was rock solid performance.

I get more lags in UT3 with 177.89 that 177.83 — don't know why. It just sometimes freezes for piece of second.

    Hi Outrance

If you're an old game at the age of 27 then what am I? (I'm 40) geez I must be ancient....I've been playing computer games since the ZX81!!"

Anyway, Cybermancer is right, it's all about bragging rights and it also gives an indication that a newer driver might give better performance, all in the hope that a new driver set gives us an extra 2000 3D Marks (lol). Actually this isn't as unlikely as it sounds because the .83 driver made my Vantage 3d mark score jump from 11000 to 13000 (woot!)

these drivers make my card goto extreme temps, usually sit about 90degrees C playing AoC, now temp has raised to 108degrees C and causes nvdisp crashes.

Humans require numbers to reference things such as performance gains like graphics. Same goes for a race..who finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on.... otherwise your argument would be void to say "Who cares, they went around in a bunch of circles and it looked good". It just doesn't work that way although I do agree to a degree. The way you see a game may be really different the way someone elses eyes see it cause not everyone has the same vision abilities either so then you have to fall back to numbers. Hardware, software, drivers etc they all change how visuals appear and that even goes for the results of bench test numbers in retrospect.

So I hope that clears things up cause your not the only one to bring this up nor will you be the last but I hope to see them at least diminish in the future cause its really getting old.
