175.16 are driving me mad :(

175.16 whql, vista x64 sp1, 4gb, 8800 gtx

All is well here with these drivers, no crashing at all, alt tab working just fine in all my games and I find these drivers great for overclocking my gtx with rivatuner.

Games: Crysis, cod4, orange box, assassins creed, bioshock, dirt, grid demo, etqw, vegas 2

 

no man if you look specially at xfx cards and their specifications you will find large difference from others just have a look

 

foulone what is your gtx manufacturer please

 

Would be interesting, if people without problems under vista test the following:
-Disable Aero
-Use Vista Game Chess Titans in maximized window
-Go with your Mouse on the Taskbar and back to Chess Titans

i tried this and nothing happened i use 175.16 whql drivers from nvidia on vista ultimate sp1 32-bit

I was playing Bioshock the other night and Avast had a pop-up in the background after an automatic update. It crashed my Bioshock game, but I think it was because of the audio when the voice says "virus database updated". I went into Avast and disabled all sounds, haven't had the issue again (yet).

I remember similar problem with R6 Vegas a year ago with 8800GTS 640MB, Vista x64

Alt tabbing to Win, any pop-ups (MSN, Antivirus etc) appearing, would definately crash the game. Can't remember if a patch or new drivers fixed it tho.

 

@bokloz: Hmm ... that crashes my system every time, but there are to many differences between our systems. We know now, that this problem doesn't occur generally, but that was clear from the beginning (otherwise nvidia would be very stupid, if they didn't found it).
Perhaps we can find out more, if anybody with x64 and a 8800 GTS/GTX/Ultra tests this.
So far I can say, that this only happens with 175.16 (not with 165.25 or 174.xx) and with disabled aero on my system.

I'm not having any problems with these new drivers....and i'm using ntune...works fine for me.....

 

175 drivers give me bsod hardware malfunctions. switched back to 174.16 nviida has been shady lately with their drivers.

People with a 680i motherboard should disable Nvidia GPU Ex in the bios, if it is aktivated. It is not supported in this driver. Fixed a COD4 Problem for me, but has nothing to do with the other problem i have.

 

I'm getting this problem with Gears of War. I have UT3 and Madden 08 and they are fine.

But i supect that when mailbell shows a pop up with my mail the game crash. The only way out of that blank screen is to reset my comp.

I would blame the drivers. This is the only thing i changed when i reformatted a few weeks ago.

I'm running my video card at default clocks. Only CPU/RAM/FSB is overclocked.
