Found out my problem with FEAR Combat:

It wasn't even teh drivers at all. It was aCe Mega Codecs Pack. I now remembered having problems with this game and the installed codec pack. Uninstalled, rebooted, and I'm good to go.

    Yay.

Tested so far...turning FRAPS off, everything is OK again in WiC, even with .04 beta driver!

    Thx for your help!

I got a boost in 3dMark06 from 10798 (163.69WHQL) to 11353 (169.04Beta), but the new beta drivers won't let me run Timeshift, the window opens for like a second and immediately closes. I reverted to the previous drivers and the problem was fixed. But I would like to be using the new drivers, does anybody know of a fix or had the same problem?

Can someone explain to me why when I updated to a 169.xx series driver my UT3 demo fps went from 60-80 ish right down to ~30 and I cannot even break the 32 barrier in the MENU SYSTEM... but when revet back to the 163.75 drivers they CONTINUE to cause an issue until I set the game to windowed mode, after that, they go back to normal fps?!

as mention above by Year, bit late for WHQL with .75 with none of the improvement.

My experience 169.04 are better! :bash:

I have noticed that some pixels starts to flickering in certain colors, im not sure if its because of the drivers (169.04).

The pixels are random, so i dont think its my screen (samsung 226bw)

Anyone noticed this, (its not easy to detect, you have to look very hard)

it is possible the culprit is your card the 8800gt is new and i heard many contain defects your card might be one of those.

This are the first drivers that i can play games like i did in Windows XP. Best drivers for me yet, no lock ups or stops in games, tested on nfs pro street demo, Stranglehold, Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

Is somebody having problems in timeshift with these drivers? I can't get it to run... I don't want to go back to previous drivers.

For me these drivers seem very good. Since Installing them I have yet to get a Windows desktop "Driver has stopped responding and has recovered" error and in general I haven't gotten one ingame either. The only time that I have received them is when I play the Crysis Demo but that is no big loss. :O

yes it works fine - Timeshift

i also had this issue, there must be a conflict with game usercfg. and nvidia driver.
I reinstalled the driver and was gone, i could start the game again, but as soon as i messed with driver settings in Rivatuner (changing various settings, IQ, af, aa,etc..), it didn't work again. So i figured out there is an huge issue in driver CP.
Anyway all you need to do is run rivatuner and run this icon as in picture, but be sure that you use the latest RT 2.06

hit the icon and then hit yes and then restart windows, it should work now.

Okay, well i will wait untill next forceware arrive, if the artifacts is still there i will try older drivers, since. If its still there i will return it and hopefully get a new one. But i can live with it, i don´t notice it when i play games.

    Otherwise a great card.
