I’m getting 35-80 fps with an 8800 Ultra "Superclocked" and an overclocked X6800 at 1600x1200, 8xQ AA and 16xAF.

What’s especially interesting about this statement is how a video card driver can give such a performance boost with an application like FSX that’s almost completely CPU bound.

Im not one to benchmark anymore but i can tell you after installing these drivers i can now apply 4AA in Quake wars and it runs smooth (ive no idea what my fps are ive given up worrying about it) with 163.67 i struggled with 2AA

thats at 1280x1024 , all high , textures ultra , sliders for bump mapping etc three quarters , shadows on , soft foliage on soft particles off.

thats pretty good for my rig running Vista 64bit premium

for my system at least these drivers are a huge improvement

Installed these last night, seem to be pretty solid, no problems with WiC, bioshock or DIRT which is all I had time to try.

Looks like nvidia are getting their act together now, the last few sets have bshown improvements in performance and stability for me

you know he lie right. if your system cant pull off 100fps then his system cant unless his cpu is a sony cell processor lol.

Although that site gives always only 162.18, if you look for drivers for XP 32bit, and 8800-serie.

    XP32 SP3 3180
    163.69

    3dmark scores :
with my overclocked config on the left :
    score 15221
    sm2 6903 !
    sm3 8002 !
    cpu 2988
with "stock" speed for the CPU and ram :
    score 12721
    sm2 5563
    sm3 7105
    cpu 2406

    conclusions :
1 - 8800 GTX SLI is hugely limited by the CPU clock speed, overclock = big improvement
2 - the 163.69 seem to benefit more than the previous drivers from point 1, that's the best scores I ever had in sm2 and sm3 when overclocked.

From a "virtual" benchmark point of view those drivers looks great.
Now for a real test : my insanely modded oblivion...

I have to go back to 162.50 because not the 163 drivers works in my sli, always having nd4 disp error on XP 32.
Kakihara: You are right in the CPU bottleneck with your SLI, I have my SLI running at 18895 on 3dmark 2006. And the GPU are not oc at all, at default 576/1350/900
That's why I never OC vga cards, always are CPU bottleneck. And if you OC they get more hotter and gains barely 5 fps at best, because the problem is not the GPU, the problem is the CPU.

No 3d mark is hugely limited by the clockspeed of your CPU , your score is very CPU dependant , 3d mark is well known for it , it doesnt mean your cpu is holding back yuor gpu

Maybe that 'unofficial' SP3 could be the problem!!

I went back to 162.22 in Vista just to get rid of the lurching movement in MoH:Airborne, both 163.67/69 introduced this!

Performance sucks with Vista Media Center.

I can't get overscan compensation to work with 50Hz refresh rate. I need 50Hz for PAL. (yes, 50Hz is COMMON!)

Basically things seem to change in a weird fashion when trying to use the settings panel. Someone at nVidia, please sort this buggy stuff out!

On top of that the problem with menu overlays in Media Center remain: Any overlay, even the very small volume indicator, causes severe stuttering in any rendered video. Useless!

So it is back to a much older version of the driver.
Does nVidia even care? They sure don't seem to test much.

Well they say they are committed to Vista, maybe they should be committed to a nut house for this crazy driver fiasco!
