Yes first was 680GTX and 7970 -> 680 had the edge in some games/7970 in others
Then ATI strikes with 7970GHz Ed The First 1050MHz (1GHz) GPU in the world
Then 780 came ---> ATI strikes with 290X Hawaii ---> then nV 780Ti and regain some market !
    Then was 980 ! ---> Fury-X HBM (first HBM g-RAM in the world!) --> 980TI
Now 1080/1070 ~700USD/~500USD --> ATI non ATM but it has DX12 "Monster" RX 480 in Mainstream ~199-239USD

Now we need to wait for ATI and 490 Big Polaris? or Small VEGA?

Posted this fix almost a month ago.

    http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=5285331&postcount=27

Somehow though, I have no issues with this on the current 14376 build here, but I'd like to know what's causing this issue.

I'm not 100% sure if this is the cause, but it seems like after the first restart, any new drivers you try to install has this Driver Signature issue. I installed these drivers after just upgrading to the new build, they installed without a problem and I restarted. After I updated my Aver Media (Seriously this name is banned?) Live Gamer EXTREME card and that is now throwing me Driver Signature issues which makes no sense at all. Sure and behold, I tried running the installer again and BAM, UNABLE TO DETECT DRIVERS and it closes out. Manually installing them or doing the fix causes the Driver Signature issue and requires you to restart with the driver signature off to use them.

I also clean installed and went back to working older drivers for my Capture Card and the same issue with the drivers (Code 52). I hope Microsoft fixes this.

I'll be reporting my findings to Microsoft.

Absolutely! Firefox may not be the most used browser or the most popular, yet there's certainly alot of people who love it and prefer it (myself included).

Beyond that, it's great to see AMD actually fixing long-standing issues and especially non-gaming ones. (I was close to considering D2D in Firefox a lost cause with the later releases, heh)

Here you go guys... Today is my final day, I'm going to miss this bad boy 280X (well a 7970 with a 280x bios that PrMinisterGR got for me), it has served me well, for a long long time. For the first time in over a decade and a half I am switching to the green side on my personal RIG.

I'm buying the GTX 1070 MSI Gaming X, I'll definitely still be visiting here from time to time. I'm actually going to miss this section of the forum surely.

You are actually getting one 1070 from somewhere? :D Lucky you. Have fun with the card and be amazed by performance that far beats anything 280x every produced :p

I still think you should've waited for Vega and stayed with red. Still, Gratz man. 1070 will be a huge upgrade over 280X.

    Thanks man.

I want to wait, however, not only do I have to wait an extra 3 months at least, but I have a strong feeling the 490 will perform at best between the 1070 and 1080.

And knowing the Australian retailers, once that happens, they won't decrease the price of the 1070, and they'll price the 490 at the same price point too. So either way, we're screwed here in Australia.

Is there any real reason to believe Vega will come out "early" instead of Q1 2017 like AMD's roadmap shows other than unsubstantiated rumors? Also, RX 480 has a perf/watt spot on with a Fury, so unless Vega is something absolutely and completely new it probably won't even match a 1080 at 250-300W TDP. Maybe HBM2 can pull off a miracle, but going by the RX 480 things aren't looking that great.

A 250-300w card on 14nm from AMD should have performance / watt way better then this card tbh and not match 1080 which would seem to be way too big of a jump. Considering it has 39% better then a 390x now.

Now I believe amd can build a card @ 225tdp that matches 1080 but that is just me :D it is still worse. And Big Vega will match 1080ti or whatever @ 300 while the ti might be 225 card.

It's slightly below a Fury in terms of perf/watt. I honestly have no idea how they can make a 225W card to beat a 1080, the 1080 is >80% more efficient. The RX 480 gets close to 200W with a bit of an OC and increased power target and it's so far away from a 1080 you're looking at CF to even get in the same ballpark. I hope I'm wrong because this looks terrible, hopefully Vega is significantly different from Polaris and much better, but experience has taught me not to believe in magic. :)

Congrats! As soon as I can find one for $400, I'll probably get one too. I'm kind of tired of the little quality of life nuisances like crossfire flickering in several titles that I currently play, lack of proper downsampling (1440p limit), high power consumption and heat during the summer months, etc. Overall I've enjoyed these cards but I think a single 1070 will keep me happy for 1080p/60 fps for 2-3 years with less issues.

Man there's this sadness inside me (even though I'm excited of course), switching to nVidia.
