I wanna build a really small PC for the living room. But since it's gonna be connected to a 120Hz 4K Oled, it still has to be quite powerful. I already have a 4090 FE and plan to use the Formd T1. But I don't wanna go AMD as the guy in the video did. So, back to the main question, lol: Is it a good idea to pair a 13700T or 13600T with the 4090? Or should I rather get a 13700 and pull back its PT settings? What would you do? The system has to be silent, so I don't want a small CPU fan spinning at high RPM when gaming. And I'm a little held back by the PSU of course, so the CPU must not draw too much power. So far I'm thinking about these parts: https://geizhals.de/?cat=WL-2970212 Thanks for you thoughts and input.
If you have money to spend, you could buy a long enough fiber optic HDMI 2.1 cable and USB cord(s) for keyboard and mouse and stick a louder but faster computer in a different room (like I did with this setup) 50ft / 15m kabeldirekt HDMI 2.1 ultra high speed certified cable Otherwise, the parts you picked are about right for the acoustics and power draw of computer you are going for in your living room to a 4k/120hz OLED.
this is a very powerful system, but is limited by the case for cooling. which i know a thing or two about as i've been a sff builder for gaming/htpc for several generations now. my best reccomendation, given that you've already made choices, is to replace all the fans w/ Be Quiet! or Noctua everywhere in your case. with Noctua you can get high rpm fans that are still silent (go w/ pwm though) on another level are the watercooling parts for servers that fit in 1u and 2u cases (which means it'll fit in your case) Alphacool has a very trick 80mm and 120mm aio that would quiet things completely, but that's borderline overkill for an i-5 if you didn't have a 4090. on the other hand your SFF Noctua cooler is at (or slightly beyond) its limit cooling an i-5 13xxx for a gaming rig whereas it'd be fine for productivity. if you lightly undervolt your 4090 it'll still be heads and shoulders above anything else, but it will present less demands to your system and the boost clocks of the cpu. current SFF system (about to be upgraded) RX6900XT, Ryzen 9 6950x, Hyte Revolt 3 case, Silverstone SX1000 platinum PSU, Aorus X670 itx, G. Skill DDR 4 4000 Cooler Master 280mm aio ROG PG 43UQ OLED 120Hz (138Hz w/ DP)
I thought about an AIO for the CPU also, but I don't know where to mount the radiator in this case. I will definely undervolt the 4090, it's power reserves are massive. I think a permanent 65% TDP should do the trick as I'm not to keen on investing the time to find the perfect voltage curve. I will check on different fans, I guess there are some quiet ones out there that should suit me fine.
