Hi, I think the 8 pin +12 volt cable of the PSU died, just the cable, everything else is fine, now, meanwhile I fix it, can I use just the 24 pin cable plugged? my motherboard is an MSI p45 MS 7512 s775 with an Intel core 2 quad q8200... can I make it run with just the 24 pin connector? or is the other one really necessary? I don't really understand too much of this stuff (cables and their use)... btw the PSU is a Corsair TX 750w

The 8 pin connector (2x 4 pin) supplies power to the CPU.
Without it connected the PC will not work.

Contact Corsair and see what they say.

Are you sure the cable does not work? These cables do not typically just die unless you can see that they are obviously physically broken. Did you pull on that cable and bend it a lot? That would be the only way I could see it breaking.
