I just got my first AMD card Sapphire 7870 and when I installed the drivers my internet pretty much stopped working. Did a full reinstall of windows - thought it was the fact that my chipset was Nvidia - and when I installed the drivers again same thing. Uninstalling them fixed the issue.

Also I have an unknown Coprocessor in device manager.

    Coincidence.

As for unknown device just look at the dev id and Google it for drivers.

Do coincidences happen twice? I am going to try to install without vision control as it is suppose to speed up the internet.

Seemed to fix it, but now all of the options that you get from vision control center are gone. Can I even run CCC? What dir does CCC install to?

Right click on desktop and CCC should appear in context menu.

I got nothing. Just the regular windows menu. I see it in Notification Area Icons customizations menu, you know the lower left by the clock, but cannot get the icon the show up.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but it wouldn't surprise me if Nvidia put some kind of coding in their chipset drivers to make AMD GPUs not work so well or at least cause grief to make work properly.
Same with AMD chipsets and Nvidia GPUs. I have Intel chipset so maybe they are neutral.
    Am I crazy? :stewpid:

    I love corporate conspiracies. :nerd:

Plus it is Saturday night after all. :)

I am gaming just fine, but I do not want to sacrifice GPU options for internet.

Vision/CCC doesn't affect the internet connection, I don't know why you keep thinking that.

Btw you just said u installed without Vision Centre....right? So that would explain why it doesn't show when u right click....

They used to do this on old ATI motherboards, when ATI actually made motherboard chipsets themselves.

I tried booting up a brand new Geforce 440 MMX at the time on an ATI chipset motherboard, all I got was the motherboard post, then a black screen that gradually filled up with smiley faces from top left to bottom right spanning the whole monitor.....

Nowadays this is pretty much not legal. I'm sure there are optimizations done for ATI GPU's on AMD motherboards etc, but to do something like break the internet on purpose? I highly doubt this.

Have you tried 12.11 beta 8?

I keep thinking that because when I install vision my internet connection is affected. If it's not vision then what is it? What should I do next to solve this?

Also I'm not sure what it is called, but there is a black boarder around the screen that I could eliminate with the vision control center. Why does this boarder happen?

How would you know the connection speed was slower unless you ran a speedtest?

And you haven't said what you mean by affected.....or listed updated hardware specs.

Just say, the build in flash player in chrome is slow (not slow down internet, just plain slow) when compare to the plugin version. you can disable the build in one and try yourself. Basically when I play a flash base video ******, bandwidth test, what ever goes beyond 300~400Mbit/s the flash video will start to lag, and bandwidth test will never go above 500mbit/s. It is back to normal when using the plugin version.

I am having a strange internet slow reaction today too. (beta 7 installed 2 days ago) I couldn't identify the problem, but this thread made me think... I will try beta 8 if it not getting any better I have to go back to 12.7, and see from there...
