Noob question: is there much sense in updating the BIOS in older mainboards if you're not running a Ryzen 3k CPU? As in, does AGESA 1.0.0.3 actually bring bugfixes or such to older CPUs as well?

MSI have thrown out some AB's too

sucks for their 570 owners though, they are still on A

No there is no benefit plus ASRock say not to update to the current BIOS if running a CPU other than the 3K series.

Password there is none for MSI FTP site.Click link on Post #6.
I advise against anyone updating from MSI FTP if they do not know how to recover there BIOS.Just do not do it.
The BIOS posted there could be for a anyone with a particular problem.
Go by the date uploaded for newest BIOS.

More mobos covered as of 12/8. Don't know if all ASRock AM4 mobos now have it but surely very close now.

Asus has finally updated the X570-E Gaming to ABB (bios version 1005). Running that now with latest chipset driver but I think my performance has gone backwards vs the AB (bios version 7010)?

When I run like Blender benchmark or Cinebench now my boost only goes up to 3.95-4.0GHz whereas before it would boost to about 4.3GHz (if my memory is correct). Voltage at load is now lower too at ~1.27V whereas before it would go to 1.37V (oddly enough idle voltage has been at 1.45-47V with iCue in the background). Playing Witcher 3 I see my boost go up to 4.27-4.3GHz on all cores though. Not really understanding this behaviour.

Asus was previously using an unsafe all core turbo setting.

For real? Would you have the source by chance?? @DW75 linked me a reddit post someone with a Gigabyte board seemed to have noticed performance going backwards as well.

Annoyed Corsair iCue still keeping idle voltage around 1.47V though. Also the fact that at heavy load such as running Cinebench or Blender voltage actually went DOWN to 1.27V is that a mechanism by the CPU to keep heat in check? If so it only topped out at around 67 degrees C for me wouldn't that still be considered lowish by the CPU? Thanks.

I got lower speeds with the first 1.0.0.3 bios however it allowed my computer to become usable. I wasn’t able to do much testing on the “launch” bios on my ASRock B450M pro4 but I lost about 10 points in CPUZ. The ABB seems pretty solid so far but still has the lower clocks.

Yea my boost and voltage in heavy load (such as Cinebench) definitely went down after ABB though games still look the same (both RotTR and W3 boosted to ~4.3GHz all cores). My Cinebench R20 score still looks pretty good though; managed 4600 in multi core and 488 in single core (which I think is actually just a few points higher than what Hilbert got on his review?) and this was with 3200MHz Cas 16 memory too.

I take it the newest 7401 contains all the previous fixes within 7306?

    cheers.

Wasn't edited, you can see if a post was edited by looking at the lower right hand area of the post. Though i don't know how quickly you edit a post if it still shows the edit. Considering i just edited this post twice, and no edit show up, i'm going to assume it doesn't show the last edited if you do it quickly.

Where are you getting these from ?

I can still only see the 7306 for the Crosshair VI (on both PC's this time).

Any way you can check for the TUF B450M-PRO Gaming ? (It seems common to the B450-PRO and B450-PLUS as well)
