    Ryzen 3k note:
When used with Chipset Driver 1.07.29.xxx or later, the system must be fully powered off to return the functional state of the RDRAND and RDSEED instructions after applying these bios updates.

If the system has been booted with this driver installed prior to applying the bios update, the instructions are disabled and remain so across OS restarts.

Does the system need to be powered off after the bios update? I updated the bios, restarted then updated the chipset drivers. Was that correct?

Gigabyte is showing the bios version F42a 1003abb bios available for the X470 Aorus Gaming 7 Wifi Rev 1.1, had to use the AU server this morning as it updates before US.

Just checked an it is showing US now as well.

On another note, this bios is still not boosting like 1002 was. Multicore scores have gone up somewhat compared to 1003ab. However I do not care for the changes to the boost response with these power plans. Also Discord is now causing my CPU to boost voltages and frequency where as it never did before this. :( They will get it right eventually. :)

I used to think MSI was slow at providing updates. Then I got the ASRock board.

It's probably Discord. It's a bloated POS product.

ASRock has beta BIOSes with 1003ABB out for a group of models starting from A320:

    www.asrock.com/support/index.asp?cat=BIOS

(sadly my board not included but hopefully soon)

Edit: actually not beta but not recommended for non 3k chips. Also not all AM4 CPUs supported due to ROM size limitations (unless X570):

*This BIOS does NOT support following Bristol Ridge CPU due to the limited BIOS ROM size: Athlon x4 970/950/940, A12-9800/9800E, A10-9700/9700E, A8-9600, A6-9550/9500/9500E

Loaded 3.60 on my B450M Pro 4. I don’t really notice anything different on this one.

More BIOSes released today, including X370 Killer SLI, X370 Gaming K4, X370 Taichi etc... I think ASRock has basically / almost the entire range now covered with 1003ABB.

    www.asrock.com/support/index.asp?cat=BIOS

Gonna try it tonight! Should be an improvement from appalling 1001...

though seems, from ASRock Ryzen 3000 forum topic, that at least B450 users are still having issues. Not sure if due to ASRock BIOS or AGESA version so YMMV.

As said above the 1.0.0.3 AB has only just dropped for Asus boards it would seem.
Going to be another month before the ABB drops ?

    For Asus Tuf B450M Pro-Gaming :
    Version 1804
    2019/07/31
    9.42 MBytes

    "TUF B450M-PRO GAMING BIOS 1804
    Update AGESA 1.0.0.3 Patch AB to improve compatibility;
Recommend updating the BIOS via EZ Flash"

Noob question: is there much sense in updating the BIOS in older mainboards if you're not running a Ryzen 3k CPU? As in, does AGESA 1.0.0.3 actually bring bugfixes or such to older CPUs as well?
