007guard is back -!!?

    How do I get rid of this thing. It's an internet monitor malware and every reference if I google it leads to another bogus anti-malware program for $29.95 that doesn't do a damn thing.

    Any suggestions on how to get rid of this? I'm using Windows 7 and had no problems before.

    Check your hosts files see if there is entries for it in there as well that is one symptom

    Any of the anti-spyware type progs should get rid! Try SuperAntiSpyware or Ad-aware or Spybot?

    Hopefully you were just wise to the fact that it is bogus, right ? I mean you didn't install anything ?

    Did you get the Windows 7 ISO from Microsoft ? If not get it from Microsoft and reinstall, just to be on the safe side.


    1. Look in Programs and Features to see if there is a uninstaller for this 007Guard program, if so first uninstall it (link).

    2. Then follow the guide and post a hijackthis log.
