Maybe because you minimized the game, and clocks/voltage went back to 2D speeds. In my experience, if you keep the 3D game open, no flickering....

Physx drivers? I am using a ATI card (4890). Are there ATI Physx drivers? I can't even get the game to open. Crashes right away.
