The Device ID for a G92 8800GTS isn't in the RivaTuner.cfg yet so you have to add it.

Hmmm well since I have always turned the self test off first thing I didn't even notice it didn't run/work with the 169 drivers.
The 169 series drivers are fully supported by RT.
2D/3D split clock ability is broken in the 169 drivers.

The Ultra's have always been WinXP driver fussy since almost day one.
I have seen 3 GTX's that do not get along (Infinite Loop Errors in WinXP)...
That may be the 169.xx drivers if you are running WinXP. You have 8800GTX card listed in your signature and I have found the whole 169.xx driver...
Dang all they have to do is open RivaTuner.cfg in NotePad then copy the bold red line in my above post and paste it over the default bold black...

Try uninstalling RT and reinstall.
Fan Control works flawlessly with my GTS.
If you editted the RivaTuner.cfg file correctly you do not need to do anything else with an G92 8800GTS.
Use the fan controls under Low Level System Settings.
