Should be a software issue. Running the same card (replacing a R9 290) with no issues.
I have a somewhat similar problem as well. Monitor will lose signal for a sec and come back up again. Happens randomly. If i switch to the Intel...
All post process on except AA, video options all high except textures and detail on ultra, hairworks off - ~60fps. Cat 15.7 on R9 290, win 7.
Anyone tried these BIOS on a Asus R9 290 DCUII ? (1000Mhz core, 1260Mhz Mem), and comes with Elpida memory. Not too brave to be the first.
I notice a bit of texture flickering (random spots) in Witcher 3 with these 1040 drivers. Other than that, all is good, though i can't really say...

This set finally got my Portal 2 running. Everything else works fine as usual.
Portal 2 file integrity check occurred for all drivers after 11.11rc for me. Steam downloads a 18.5Mb file but it still crashes every time. Sigh.
Nope Portal 2 doesn't work with these and a single 7950 (CAPS or no CAPS).

Do these work with Portal 2 ? With the 12.3RCs (or 12.2 pre-certified from AMD's website) Portal 2 will straight away crash upon startup.
The latest caps will do. 12.1 Cap 1 i believe.

Using 10.10c with the latest CAPS on my 4870x2 with no issues. I reckon 10.10e would work just as great but since there's nothing in the change...
I'd wait a bit for the updated 1.08's or stick with that judging from the responses on TwL's thread.
the 750/900 speeds are what we call the "2d/3d clock bug", and happens only when you run a DX9 application (i.e. after exiting said application,...
The 10.9a should work for 48x0 X2 cards in getting the 2nd GPU to go to proper 3d core and mem speeds. Try and use something like GPU-Z (open 2...
