no there is a hotfix that microsoft provides on their website that allows sli to be used in DX10 applications
always upgrade you will notice performance boost between the 2 cards
what 90c? your crazy my two 8800GTX cards are overclocked and dont go over 70c
make sure your case is not in an enclosed space
crysis demo is wierd it doesnt you my sli even with newest beta drivers and hotfixes from MS
jesus you should get the 8800 ultra and you will be solid.
10.1 just means a higher version of DX10 we saw multiple versions of DX9 and they worked on all DX9 cards.

make sure out of the 2 PCIe slots you have that your current card is installed in the right slot.
just always you have the latest drivers downloaded and installed.
yeah the games coming out with directX 10 require a ton of power
yeah its an awesome card for sure i have yet to get another one for Sli.
you will be just fine with one gtx card and in a year or so when games start becoming harder to run just buy another gtx card and do sli because...
