    funkymonkey,
this low cpu usage was with the setop into liquid video, or was it other one?
During the step into liquid I saw periods of low cpu usage, but in the middle of the video cpu usage reached 100% for long periods of time.

I guess it depends on what is being shown.

Hum... I have downloaded JRd1st program and used it to set nv decoder as the default.... It did lower cpu usage a bit.
It reached 100% only once or twice and for very short periods of time, but usage is still pretty high.

NO it stays in 23%-31% range at all times. I have now downloaded 3 different videos and it stays in same range for all of em. I installed 61.77 and usage is 100%. I reinstalled 66.81 and its again in 23-31% range. This is enoughj to convince me that my onchip video decoder is indeed working with new drivers.
By the way this is new card, i now have 2 evga 6800GTs I sold my old 1 at fortune here and got this baby for very cheap price. I was gona get ultra but i decided i will get GT only.
This is last month batch of evga cards.

I now kept video in loop for 10 minutes and even then it wont go above 31% ever.

Now it is even more strange :)

Maybe the ovp is only enabled with sse2 cpus(p4's and athlon64)?

Funky, I think in order to compare your CPU usage to others, you'll need to disable your processor's HyperThreading. See here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=441674&postcount=52

Well, I just ran the Step into liquid video, my CPU was around 60% most of the time with HT enabled.

100% cpu all the time for me, and thats bull poop,. and nvidia is really looking at some serious legal actions here if they dont enable the bloody decoder.
they and ever other website out there advertises these cards as having a onboard video decoder.. well guess what,, its bull****e.

and i have the latest drivers also, and it dont work for me.

Check your GPU core temperature and see if it changes during the video.

    heh.........
I disabled the HT but then too the CPU usage never went to 100%.
It ranges betwen 41-49% and only jumps to above 50 when it is loading video again( HDD access ).
The GPU temp goes by 3C not much but yes it goes up.

maybe but i think its unlikely that old cores hav faulty VPU. Maybe i am just the lucky one to get the thing working and future drivers will allow this functionality without problem.
WHy dont we start e-mailing NVIDIA and ask them to clarify about this. Spam them with 1000s of email regarding this and force them to reply on this.
If you can post link to this on all forums you visit or atleast gather people from other communities and lets all start asking question to NVIDIA.
Or we can request high profile media rpresentative like Hilbert and other site owners to ask this to nvidia. They generally dont discard questions asked by these people as they know they have the power to hurt the company image and at the same time to help NVIDIA clarify things to large community.

dang it. Does divx even stress any PC?
I never checked the processor utilization before playing divx.
Now its next to nothing. 4-8% thats all.
What kind of CPU usage you guys getting with divx?
