It's not stirred up by ATI fanbois. This discussion originated over at nvnews by pissed of GT owners.

Every 18 months i can upgrade my screencard ,so i won't be taking that gamble with the moding.

Saying nvidia has problem with stuff is like saying the sky is blue. The same goes for ati. Everyone knows how fast the market is going. both companies have their problems they have to over come.

Nvidia has a new architecture ,so its obvious nvidia will have the most problems with their boards but atleast they update drivers regulary.

ATI updates their drivers just as often, new WHQL driver set per month and some betas now and then.

Yes, it's true that nVidia currently has a problem with AA right now. "Therefore as a simple fix he suggested setting the LOD in both the directx and opengl sections of Rivatuner to 0.3 (POSITIVE VALUE)." Says it looks better and improves performance.

I think i'll go for the X800 PRO and flash it to XT PE. Anyone know a good guide to flash a X800 PRO VIVO please?

    This is a easy one
If you care about benchmarks get a x800pro vivo and flash it
If you want new technology get nv gt

Both have good points both have bad points

there is a risk with flashing any card with mine wont run 525 with 16pipes 24/7 after flashing now i use the connect 3d xt bios 500/500 runs sweet as

If u can flash it, teh XT PE is the fastest card on teh planet right now in 80-90% of titles with AA and AF enabled, but out of teh top 4 cards on AGP at least, the X800 Pro is the worst. I got a Saph X800 Pro VIVO which flashed to XT PE no problems, can even overclock it to a steady 540 core and 580 memory which isnt bad.

If i had to have kept the X800 as a Pro tho, I would have taken it back for a 6800 GT no doubt. I was quite dissapointed with it as a Pro tbh, but generally XT PE perfo is the best in its class atm, so I'm happy for teh time being.

Wow, thanks alot guys. I'll be getting a X800 and flashing to XT PE then! :p

Can anyone tell me if this card is any good?

It's the 'Toxic' edition, never seen it before but it seems to be a X800 pro VIVO with a rebadged artic cooler.

For £30 extra on the X800 PRO VIVO is it a good buy?

Saves you the extra cash on purchasing a VGA Silencer plus it has Sapphire's swanky Toxic colour scheme.
Depends on your colour preferences really. :)

The cheapest I've seen so far for the UK is £22 inc P&P and VAT, so paying £8 more to have it pre-fitted and in a nicer colour scheme seems quite favourable. :)
    That's just my opinion though.

Hang on, Microdirect also do a proper x800XT for about same price as the Pro...

This one's a special offer though, apparently.
