This is annoying now. I installed the GeForce 6800 Ultra vid card the other day. I felt I should move the audio card to a different PCI slot to let the vid card breathe better. So I did. Moved it 2 slots over. Now I notice there is a tremndous crackling/popping noise from my speakers while gaming or playin music. (Logitech z680) The sound is really distorted and almost impossible to listen to. I installed the drivers and such from the cd and updated the the drivers from Creative's website as well. Could it be the PCI slot? I hear peeps talking about PCI Latency or something. I did not have this problem beofre I moved the card..But now, I am clueless. Any thoughts? Is there a specific way you are supposed to install the card/drivers? one before the other?

I'd try the card in another slot. That will probably fix it.

what happens if you put it back in the slot it was in to start with?

and is your motherboard drivers and bios up to date?

Just for kicks try removing the 6800 and put back whatever you had.... To see if it goes away....

Check to see if IRQ's are being shared..... what i would i would try
