Hmmmm, if there's any truth in there, having to install .NET frame work would be a pain in the rear.

Whys that? I'm no developer or such but I assumed people only used this for programming?

Its one thing I've never looked into .NET, poor dial up users though 21mb then 40mb
Wonder what would happen say you install the new drivers and .NET is not installed... should evil things happen?

Man! That was so funny, I totally can't stop laughing at your clever joke! You should become a comedian.

Anyways I'm sure ati will keep things optional so possibly people could just use the old control panel or something like that. To me the .net framework is the same as java runtimes... a huge bloated pile of annoyance. Except the difference of java is that it's crossplatform, the framework is just bloat ontop of bloat.

I think LZMA compression (7-zip) would be required since 40MB is quiet a piece of software.

.NET Framework = EVIL  I've managed to keep it off my systems so far. I really hope this turns out to be a rumor.

Apparently there will be a normal driver package with CP and there will be the ACE package that is the driver along side with the ACE software and CP. So yes, if you want to use the new ACE software, it will be 40 mb but a regular driver update will also be available.

Glad my laptop is no longer my only gaming rig (not like a 7500 can do anything).
No more driver updates for me I guess, cause I'm not installing .net.

Its Easier to have it and use the Hundereds of small programs that need it then deal without it.
