    1024/4xAA/High = 63.8
    1024/0xaa/High = 78.9
    1024/4xaa/UltraHigh = 60.7

I think the best setting would be the 1280 res with ultra high and no AA

omfg the benchmark in d3 is so screwed.... i get like 30fps on the test and i run on 1024x768 everything on, and on high.. even though i averge 40-50+ in doom3... But in huge fights i drop to 30+

    1024x748 0xaa 0xAF 37.4 first run/43.3 second run

The game itself looks more like 43.3 :p It doesn't freeze to read textures like in the timedemo.

Well, it is kinda low for a 5900XT, but your CPU is holding you back. Try O/Cing it.

My XP 1800+ would have topped out at about 33fps in the timedemo even with a 6800 Ultra as it was already CPU bound at 640x480 on my Ti4200. So yes, your P4 1.7 is the reason you are stuck around 30fps with a 5900XT.

I am sorry that I ever needed to post something like this, but here it goes:

How do I run the timedemo(s)? I cannot seem to find how to run them.

@ 800x600 high quality i get 41.4 on my second time through the demo...

i wonder why it does not precache anything m\before the timedemo? - probably to boost PCI express numbers when the cards come to shleves.

In some regards i was dissapointed with doom3 - the lack of the arachnatron and the lack of enemies yelling things like in the alpha - "I'll eat your soul - your kind are over - hell awaits you - PAIN!" really dissapointed me - it made the experience more frightening when they were specifiacally yelling at you in descriptive terms.

    are my fps low?

I can only get about 50 fps no matter what settings i test. Even at the lowest settings i should be smoking but i can't seem to get over 55 fps. Can anyone help me out?

I dont think his processor is limiting...hes gt is also a Ultra. This is more like driver related.

    But just incase

in nvidia panel a few settings need to be tweaked with.

AA and AF left to APP Control
    Vertiical APP Control
    Quality
    Tril Op On
    AF Op OFF

Once in the game pick your stuff there. I would recommend you turn off vsync if its on. The game runs fine for me on ultra and normal, the 1600 does sound nice, but i wont be able to play it well with 1gb of ram, it runs fine after the level has been run through but first time runs, its a little too jerky during the first encounter of fights, other than that it looks nice, the need for AA is not needed which is very nice.

Has people tried setting the AGP in the bios from 256 to 512? See if it makes a difference?
