Bluedog - how did you 3.0c make such a big difference in your aqm3 and 3dmark 03 scores? I switched from a 2200 ( 512 mb pc 2100) to what I have now and barely saw a difference!!!!

The P4 2.4A [400FSB] was setup with 768MB of Crucial C2.5 RAM and a eVGA 5900SE GFX. The current high score are are with the specs @ the right >>>

The P4 3.0C matched with the Corsair and a eVGA 5900nu made a huge difference. And this is a MicroATX Intel board that only the RAM Latency's can be adjusted on, so you could say Stock.

I keep reading all these scores of 17,000 and 16,000 on 3d mark 01 and I only get 13,500...and I've got a friggin 5950 ultra! Am I doing something wrong? On 3d mark 03, the scores I've seen are what I typically get, which is 6000'ish. Someone help me out?

counter-strike ... what settings are you running the BM @? Are you overclocking the GFX?

yeah, I do overclock because the difference in-game that I notice between not overclocking and overclocking is a huge gap. And without overclocking, I score about 500 points less in the benchmark tests.

    Here are my scores:

    Overclocked:
    3d Mark 01:13542
    3d Mark 03:6103

Someone help! I've seen scores with slower vid cards than mine and get higher scores!

Oh, and my benchmark settings are the default 1024x768 for 01 and 03.

Have you made sure there is nothing running in the background? Things like virus checkers can make a difference to the score. Use something like End It All 2 before running the benchmark so you are only using the minimum processes needed by the OS. Have you got all the latest drivers/patches and Windows updates?

Ending processes doesn't seem to help. All my drivers are the latest and windows is fully updated. Could it be my setup? I only gained 100 points in 01 and 50 points in 03 from ending the processes.

Did you disable all applications loading in the Start Up Folder using the msconfig utility?

Yah, i tried doing it through msconfig...but that didn't seem to help. The only other explanation now would be my hardware. Maybe it's time to switch to N-Force 2 ultra 400? Could it possibly be something with the Kt600 chipset that's lowering my score?

Are you using the latest mobo BIOS? You might gain a little by going for an nForce 2 chipset but I can't see it being a huge jump. If you can get hold of another HDD, install only the OS, updates, latest driver etc and 3DMark. See what scores you get then. If it's still low then it could be a hardware problem. If you kniow someone with a similar spec PC to you, see if they'll let you install you card in their PC and run the benchmark.

Today I got mine AMD 3000+ :D a lot better performance then my old 2200+

    3DMark2001SE: 15900
    3DMark2003: 5575 (pretty low I think :S)

I should be able to get 6000 with my Radeon 9800 Pro?
