Well I just got a new comp

And I used the Catalyst 4.3 Drivers since its a bit faster than 4.4
My stock video settings I get around 5500.

    I overclocked it to 416/358 and I get 5990.

Is that a bit crappy for my systems???

That score looks quite good, considering you're running a P3 and sdram.. :)

    Eh.. I should've known that..

    It would've been close though..
3DMark03 is mostly gpu limited, cpu & memory make little difference, compared to 3Dmark2001.

    That's much better. :D

My scores with the 9800XT. Also using 4.3 drivers and slightly overclocked.

I have a similar system to you, jackliu913 and I also only get 5500-5600 3dmark 03's. Its really annoying seeing people who get 7300 3dmarks and they've got a very similar system. I cant work out why its going so slow because before I bought my pc I checked about every review that existed and it said that the 9800XT and 5950 Ultra had only a small performance difference. I checked around and it appears that those scores are pretty much normal for our systems :( maybe i'll end up buying some better hsfs for everything and once I get my temps below 60 on my AMD I'll overclock, since it can make a HUGE difference in yur 3dmark score even if you just oc a little.

wll big 4x4, i tried and i tried to get aquamark working but all i got was errors about nodes, exceptions and blue screens. I tried slowing down my ram timings but it didnt fix it, sorry i couldnt get my aquamark score, i did do it ages though and i got more than 40,000 i think. 3dmark 01 worked fine: 16640 points

    the problem is the cpu....

trust me, with the 2200+ (a little overcloked ^^ ) i was getting abaut 5300, now, with the p4, i am getting 6700, so, really the cpu maters (its not so important as in 2k1 , but, still been something important...)

But, really, you dont have to care abaut ur marks.. u are having a good pcs , so probably u can play even farcry at max... so who cares abaut 500 points on 3dmark ??? :p

I get 40.6 k in AM3. With my other 9800 pro I got 17.1k stock, but now I am only getting 16.6XX (maybe because I am using different drivers?). yyttu - your computer has like the same specs as mine =)

Guys (I'm the original thread starter)

Right now I flashed my 9800 Pro to XT bios and running stock XT speed of 412/365 and it's running quite well it most of my games except farcry (prolly cuz I don't have 1 gig ram)

    Right now I'm getting 6280 in 3dmark03, with my cpu clocked @ 2.28 Ghz (182 x 12.5)

Thats a decent score right? And also after playing games for a lot period of time, I'm beginning to see some artifacts on the screen (not a lot, but just a noticable bit)

Are my memory on the 9800pro messed up or what? or should I clock down a bit?

Btw, whats with these ram settings in the bios?
I set it to aggressive mode in bios (7-3-3-2.5)

I have a single stick of samsung pc3200 512 ram

try downloading the mem of ur card by 10 mhz, beacause those artifacts are beacause of the o/c (too much heat..) , and that ll resolve the problem...

and yes, that score is right, do not worry abaut people getting 7000 points with ur same card , as ur cpu is pushing it back (i can get 6700 points, and obiusly, u have a better card.. its just the cpu..)

and buy another 512 mb of ram.. far cry ll fly ^^
