Okay, I'm going to ask this once polite. Please stop posting messages with 'this and that sucks' and stuff like 'pissed off' written with caps locked on.

Ask specific questions and people will help you out. If you just need a place to vent .. hey by all means do it somewhere else, yet not here. If you can't live with it we suggest you pay somebody for a commercial support instead of asking guru's to personally donate their time to help to you out, in other words do it with respect.

Last hint, unlock that caps key.

actually dude i have been asking for help on this issue for quite some time.

any ideas you have would be appreciated. so far all these drivers blue screen and reboot.

my "newbie" status is a bit over rated. i've been around a couple years now. and though a few Beta detonators caused odd problems this thing with forceware really does "bother" me.

maybe i should be asking if you know of any plans by nvidia to drop older cards or put out updated drivers that actually work with them ?

People that visit this thread need details, thus post details. Mobo / cards / OS / Memory / Drivers + versions etc etc.

You need to tell as much as you can about your system and the issues you seem to be experiencing before readers can understand your problem, recognize it, and perhaps then can help you.

    compaq mother/700 celeron / winXP(home)/526 SDRAM/ hercules GeForce 2 mx/mx 32 and alternately evga GeForce 4 mx420 64DDR both PCI.

installing any 5x.xx forceware drivers looks good until re-boot. the machine re-boots from install to either a blue screen/ mem dump/ or a "system failed due to serious default" option to use Safe boot/ or gets as far as bios and re-boots(continous restart after checking floppy and CD drives)

    this happens with both cards.

    Hi

Think it's you're name or faulty mem 526MB?
    Serious,

I think it's a hardware conflict more then a software.

Could u tell us if games play fine after a clean
install of win xp (can't remember if it installs dets
automatically) 2 much grass in my head,
got a nice ghost image i made a year ago.

If not try removing all ad-on pci cards and boot the system look if you succeed booting.

or go to device manager and choose view recources by connection
interrup requests and see if there is a conflict

    try motherboard bios defaults

    good luck

thread still needs far more info to answer

What a bunch of noise. If you want to know what is wrong with your computer try upgrading about every year or so. Celeron 700? Geforce 2? Please. Quake will barely run on that. Give me an address and I'll send you my spare P4 1.8 Gig and my old Geforce 3. I have an Abit board (can't remember which one) laying in the closet. Stop complaining and upgrade man.

actually i have a fresh install of winXP with a new hard drive.

    i'm using 41.09

i have tried all forceware 5x.xx and they all funk up.

i can play games, morrowind, total war, and various demos.

the aqua benchmark took several hours to run.

What does a GeForce 4 MX want with the 53 ForceWares? Better off with 41.09, in my opinion. (At this point, you should make reference to my sig.)
