Just updated it. All textures ultra my vram consumption is under 7500mb. The game absolutely maxed out. With texture streaming rate at normal.
Nope, so far so good. I do have some small frametime spikes when a cutscene starts or when opening doors but thats never when actually playing the game. Max I ever saw on the vram was 7800. I do have texture streaming rate on "normal", that option on ultra puts my vram at 11gb. All the vram/textures on ultra. On the past patch the best I could do was high and even then it surpassed 8gb (on the menu, in game never actually did). And no, for those wondering, there isn't any texture pop in, if there is, it's so far way that I cant see it. edit: I just realized this was with dlss OFF, with dlss ON quality vram consumption drops almost 1gb. and this just eat my 5800x3d, 90% usage sometimes, insane. o.o
I think that is a bit unfair given how difficult it is to code for the PC in general, given the multitude of hardware and software variations. Nixxes have earned their reputation simply because they generally release solid ports. No game is ever perfect at launch, that's why post-release patches exist, but if I was given the choice then I have Nixxes work on every console-to-PC port released because it would then guarantee that it would release in a playable state unlike many other releases of late!
Started the game this morning for the first time. Set a timer on my phone to see how long the Shader compilation would take for a first time start with the latest update. 15 minutes 26 seconds.
let me know by the end of it, if the game was worth it. i recommend playing slowly and enjoy it while it last.. it is a gem.
I already finished after the update. I'll remember this one, very very good. Just not a fan of naughty dog combat, same on uncharted. They tell great stories but the gameplay is just serviceable.
I played it back on the PS3 when it first released. Haven't played it since, so I don't remember everything, but I've been excited at the idea of replaying. Specially on a PC... as I hate Playstation's controller.
My 4-core 3570k is still very capable so I'm hesitant to upgrade, plus no ssd and I use 4TB & 8TB 5400rpm.
i just hope the second game won't take 10 years to follow on PC. the second game is also a brutal, excellent game.
Just beat the game for the first time. Quite good story, realistic pacing but also somewhat stiff, camera angles sometimes do not work superbly well as I'm in my way of my own vision. One boss fight was too QTE, without spoiling it lead to quite a bit of trial and error, which is a bit dull DLC tomorrow then
Finished it yesterday with update 1.4 The performance was very good everything on ultra, 1440p with rtx 3070 and dlss quality. Didn't see any issues
I've been playing, but keeping the settings on High. Honestly, the difference between High and Ultra is so minuscule, it's not worth the additional resources/memory usage.
