Wow the 3070 is alot closer to 6800 than I expected, I thought 3070 would get slaughtered.

5-10% is barely noticeable, unlike 40%

We can cherry pick benchmarks all day but in all fairness 6800 is a much better card than 3070. It performs better and it has double the vram. Hell 3070 cant even the same settings as 6800 in latest games thats how 8gb is limiting the card.

Well sure 6800 is better, no doubt, but
    1. 6800 was more expensive than 3070 at launch
    2. 6800 barely exist outside of US, can't even find them new Asia
    3. At this point anyone who buy new 6800 or 3070 are crazy

    1. But today they are roughly the same price.
    2. Plenty of 6800s here in Europe.
3.Because of the prices AMD and NVidia are charging for the newer GPUs, these old GPUs are the new "budget" options.

I agree there is no point buying either of them. Thats why i didnt for 6800, seller wanted me to pay 100$ more on top of the 3070. It makes no sense i would rather swap for 6700xt with no extra cost then upgrade to rtx40 or rx7000 when i can instead.

Used 6800/6800xt's are killer deals these days.
Placed a 400eur bid on a powercolor fighter 6800 in good condition 2 days ago, so far the highest one. Seems like few people are interested though, the auction is not getting any more views.
Great, power efficient, quiet card. Will test and keep as secondary if I win.

Atleast get a 6800xt if you find one in good condition. Even on used market cant find it at below 500eur.

no thanks, no 300w cards for me, and they are 100eur more expensive. 6800 fighter on warranty for 400e would be sweet though. Maybe less if I buy directly from the guy.

Imo FSR\TSR shouldnt be put on the same level as DLSS like all these videos imply. That hardware means a ton visually, especially when you need to use p mode (p mode is where its at if ure 1440p or greater), where DLSS absolutely decimates its counterparts. Not even remotely comparable.

They temporal upscalers. DLSS is the best, but it uses the same basic tech.

Great I'll have that 6800 coming soon, I'll be able to play that one game that can't run max textures on 8GB cause amd locked dlss out, like in every other sponsored game. Makes you wonder why this time they made fsr2 look so crappy too...... Though I hear there are dlss mods, but I don't really like doing anything more than swapping a dll, so I won't bother.
I'll do that after I'm done with WIII RTX, no way I'm giving up RTGI, rasterized GI looks just sad in comparison. You talk about textures making a big difference, well, look at that......

Its not just one game but entire game library based on RE engine. Maybe you didnt know but RE7,RE2,RE3,RE8 all have the same issue.

I did my share playing Witcher 3 so when i think Witcher i think forward and the sequel done in UE5 that performs well on amd hardware. Actually wont be missing out anything compared to 3070ti if you did get that 6800. You'd even have the advantage of huge vram buffer those games will need.

Owen said amd cards here have better 1% lows and overall less stuttering

Wait a moment? YOU are changing to an AMD GPU?
Is this just to try out something, or do you really plan on keeping that 6800?

He was talking about some good deal on the 6800 but who knows if he was serious or not. :D
Hell when @aufkrawall2 did it i was surprised.

Maybe sell that 3060ti to recuperate some of the cost.

lol now you're just making things up
I played re2 (with rt) and re7, no issues despite the game reporting some outrageous +14GB vram requirement, ran smooth as butter. Same in dmc5.
Thinking forward but not about the present .........thanks, but I'd rather be able to play W3 remaster with rt on, it makes a world of difference to the GI and reflections (keeping non-rt shadows on cause raytraced look a little noisy and they drop the framerate below 50fps). W4 isn't even confirmed yet, so make sure you have enough vram to play that ... I'm sure 6700XT will have enough gpu power to run it with rt too, as long as you have the memory.
If I had a 3070Ti I would be missing a lot in RT compared to 6800 actually, but I'm not buying that since it costs a lot and draws an outrageous amount of power. Would rather buy the 6800, to keep just in case and play non-rt, non-dlss games as that's what it's good for (and how good!). Gonna crank every setting up in Kingdom Come Deliverance once I have it and I'm done with W3.

Im using that dlss unlocker mod for Doom Eternal and i swear i cant tell the difference compared to real dlss. :D

Why would i not be using it? Fsr2.1 looks decent at 1440p uw.
