Hogwarts Legacy has 400k concurrent players on Steam, and this is before the game unlocks for every version. And it's not even the weekend yet.
After reading all the good reviews , experience from here real users and watching youtube videos i think i will bite the bullet later when i get home , i need a fun , positive , rewarding new game to play . Thank you for your input and feedback on the game and gameplay guys , keep posting your experiences please
I do, some also reflect objects like windows which are actually not in sight when you look around. Besides, I think their internal resolution is rather low, they shimmer the whole time at 1440p.
Okay, this game seems pretty pimp!... and I know jack about Harry Pothead! There's some sort of ingame background benchmark that gives you suggested gfx options, mine defaulted to medium but cranked it up to ultra and aside from the area transfer stutters the FPS is pretty good thus far in the castle.
The reason why the consoles can do it is because: 1) They have unified memory. This makes memory access and usage much more efficient than having discrete memory pools like what the PC has......though that also means less performance and capability. A particular example of how this is important is that with consoles, they don't need to copy data from RAM into VRAM like on the PC which saves memory. 2) Lower level programming due to being fixed hardware, so devs can more efficiently manage memory. 3) Reliance on upscaling technology. I don't know what resolution the game is running at on XSX or PS5, but it definitely won't be native.
Congrats on your new GPU The game seems pretty light and story driven so far. I find this is to be beneficial as it balances out the panic and stress inducing gameplay of the Dead Space remake
Did anyone buy this game on the Epic Games store? I noticed that games that I purchased on the EGS don't show up in my Windows 11 installed applications. It may be because I have them installed on another drive, but Steam and EA Play games show up in the Windows installed applications even if they are on a different drive than the Windows installation. Nothing wrong with this I suppose, but I just found it odd.
Looks like the Nvidia drivers that dropped today have no specific optimizations for Hogwarts Legacy. Intel Arc Beats NVIDIA and AMD to Hogwarts Legacy Game Ready Drivers | TechPowerUp
First, I am so glad they made a quality game for Harry Potter fans and that so many are enjoying it... That said... NAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!
I think you may be right. I just installed the new drivers and performance seems to have increased. I noticed I'm well above 100 FPS now at 4K native with everything maxed out and FG on, whereas on the previous drivers, I was averaging 90-100. The new drivers may have turned ReBar on. Seems like there is still some untapped performance left as well.
Grew up with the books and moives. I will definitely get the game, but probably wait a few months after release.
