It's not even that he bought a 4080 (which is already a ripoff) - It's that he bought a 4080 strix, which has a huge price premium over base 4080 price, making it nearly as expensive as a base price 4090 ...
Not compared to the 4090 strix which also holds a premium. Can't compare aib vs founders. Not a fair comparison.
/facepalm First of all, founders aint the cheapest model. 2nd you can absolutely compare founders and aib cards - it's the same card, just a different cooler. 3rd, only a not very smart person buys the most expensive version of a card that aint the highest tier - you can spend a tiny bit more and get a 4090 tuf instead of that 4080 strix, which is 35% faster.
I'm speaking price wise with your comparisons, not cooling. You didn't pay for it, why do you care how someone else spends their money? If he's happy with his purchase that's all that matters? Let him be happy.
Let it go, that fucker is chronically miserable. Some people just suck the oxygen out of every room they enter.
Evidently my point entirely flew past your oblivious head. Regardless, this is a forum - he posted his purchase, i commented on that post. That's how forums work.
4080 is solid in my book. Really been enjoying mine. No regrets. Sure the 4090 is more powerful. But it's also more power hungry, more expensive and much more difficult to find in the wild. DLSS 3 is a game changer.
I agree DLSS 3 is awesome. The 4080 is fine,I owned some RTX 4090 and they are faster but here is the kicker. I use my LG 65' OLED as daily driver 95% of the time with G-sync @120FPS. So expect for maybe a few games 4K Max settings you would never know what GPU I was in the PC Rig that day.
I'll maybe pick up a 4080 if the price drops below $800. For now I'm fine with my 3080. Or maybe if they release a 4080Ti, I gotta believe that's planned with how big the performance gap is between the 4080 & 4090 cards.
Some more undervolting shenanigans at 0.9400 V, 250-260W, 2700 MHz, 1100 rpm fans (pretty quiet) Under 60 C temps. I expect this to run very cool and quiet in actual games. (game dependant) https://www.3dmark.com/sw/163709
Looks good, but for some reason the 4080 results look lower than expected. Can it be something with the amd chipset? My 13700k and 4080 gives better fps in both witcher and cyberpunk.
My CP2077 1440p frames match it pretty much with a 5800X/RTX4080. Its when I turn on DLSS that the 5800X eventually gives up at around 80-90fps or so scene depending. That usually maxes out one or two cores and it chokes up. No such issue in Darktide tho, but thats DLSS3. Looking forward to CP2077 with DLSS3!
