I think its prob a bad mounting. Its always bad when we get something and just dosent work prop. I hope you get another one. For me any time I get a CPU or GPU I always get the lowest of sample quality, I love OC and always have stuff under water.

I have XFX Merc RX7900XTX with vbios 022.001.002.009 I see on TPU VBIOS DB , XFX MERC 310 with vbios 022.001.002.010.000001.

Someone know the difference ? I suppose AMDVBFlash will be update not soon for support of RDNA3

Bechmark Request for AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT

Again I need the help of the guru3d users. I participate in the distributed computing project at mersenne.org, that searches for the largest known prime numbers. I keep a benchmark list for the OpenCL programm gpuowl version 6 to 7 (Linux and Windows). I need a benchmark of one of this cards. Any benchmark of other graphic cards are welcome and will be added to the list immediatley.
You can use Linux or Windows-version, the values should only differ by a few percent. The Linux version is around 5-10% faster. The windows version should work without any further installation effort. The benchmark will only take a few minutes. The gpuowl program only needs to be started at the command line (CMD) or linux-shell with the following parameters.

    gpuowl -iters 30000 -prp 77936867

    Windows binary version (with Proofs)
    gpuOwl v7.2-129
    https://mersenneforum.org/showpost.php?p=619415&postcount=35
    gpuOwl v6.11-364
    https://mersenneforum.org/showpost.php?p=551594&postcount=8

Linux binary version 6.11-380 Ubuntu 18.04 to 22.04
    https://mersenneforum.org/showpost.p...1&postcount=40

Eventually you have to copy the libstdc libary files to its directory:
    sudo cp libstdc* /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/

Example: AMD RX 6800 XT from another guru3d user

Tried both versions on Windows 11 and I don't think they are working.

Here is the results it spits out.

It seems there are others with the same issue running gpuowl on 7000 series

Yes thx, a user of mersenne.org struggles with installing Ubuntu, ROCM..., hoping it will run at least at linux.

Yea the new drivers are MUCH better. I am actually using his tweaked settings but with slightly higher core clocks.

    Min 2400
    Max 2500
    Pwr +15
    Volt 1120Mv
    VRAM 2014 (gives 2700MHz)

    with a custom fan curve (35% > 45% > 55% > 55% > 75%)

These settings keep the GPU under 75C junction temp during heavy loads and now capping fps in certain games keeps the power most the time under 350W (mostly around 280-320W) whilst getting basically the same performance if not more than stock.

Looking into getting an UW Monitor in January. Looking at the Alienware Freesync one 3440x1440 QD OLED :) My current 4K Samsung Odyessy is a little hit and miss with performance.

I'm using FSR2 and TAAU, to reduce power usage a bit. With it they still hit 144 fps, but consuming30-50W less.
I used an UW monitor some years ago. It was cool, but a bit of a hassle with some games, because support is a bit hit or miss.

BTW, did you test the tweak for UE4 games in AMD GPUs?

Yea I tested those tweaks with BL3 and it was a no go, much worse performance.

Not tested much else yet, am waiting for xmas tomorrow as I know my sister has got me some steam vouchers and I will use those to buy calisto.

    BL3 has a blocked engine.ini
    Did you use UUU?

Holy cow, I didnt know about that program. Does that unlock the engine.ini for some locked games like BL3?

I dont know if it is locked, I added those lines into the engine.ini and went to a certain place on the map and it stuttered like mad.

I left the game, deleted those lines, went back to the same area and it was smooth again.

UUU allows us to enable the console in-game.
So even with games that are blocked, we can change settings. But it does not work with all games.
But be careful with online games, as it might be picked up as cheats.

Got my 7900XTX (AMD model) yesterday, and so far getting results of:

30 300 in Time Spy while running cooler at 75%.
Still temps are something that i´m not used to. GPU at 71-75c and junction at 100c.
Max frequency at 3275MHz, stock VRAM, i tried +100 on it, no use.
    1060Mv with +15% power.
TBP is that 397w which is the max.

I was abit worried if my PCIe3 x 8 would be a problem, but it´s fine.

Time to order the waterblock this.

It's has been a long time since I played BL3. I noticed somethings have changed, even on the implementation of DX12.

Regarding the engine.ini, I can confirm it's locked and it resets every time we load the game.
Even with read only, it will not load settings.
It works well with UUU. This is how I checked it's not loading anything from the engine.ini
But it's a pain to enter one setting at a time. I don't know if there is a way to enter a bunch of settings with one copy paste.
Whatever performance issue you got, it was not from the setting you copied.
But after entering the command r.HZBOcclusion=1, I can confirm that it does not work well with this game. There is a performance degradation of a couple of fps.
This is the second game I found that loses performance with this command, instead of gaining. The other was The Ascent.

I also noticed that commands to cache shaders are disabled with this game. For example, r.CreateShadersOnLoad is set to 0 by default.
the game now does not do the long compilation of shaders at the start of the game. So there are several hitches from shader compilation during gameplay.
I run the benchmark and it was full of stutters. Ran it a second time, and it was much better.
