Observing the time of the year, the state of the weather...a Winter thread. Continental US-ans and Canadians count your digits while you still got 'em! It's going to be cold outside this Christmas. Everyone stocked up with anything heating, power and plowing related? Anyone prepared to drink pure gravy just to get enough caloric intake? Or just business as usual? Western-Europe had a little cold spell these last few weeks, but nothing compared to the other side of yonder big pond. Just a reminder that sometimes water will do funny things outside. Anyone here actually affected by the possible -70*F/-56*C forecast? And Merry Christmas!
It was -15c in some parts of Scotland, -7 here in Glasgow and it was like living in a ice box, so i hope more milder weather is here to stays as the cost of living crisis is really biting million here in the UK, and will be for the forseeable few years. Crazy times we are living in for sure.
Just bought an inner tube for a bicycle tire at the local store...up from €5 in 2021 to €8.99 today. Nuts.
Breaking news ....... Winter is cold. In other news, scientists discover fire is hot and you can use your hands to 'hold' things.
East Med and my solar panels doing their job giving me hot water. Another £30 electricity bill this month i suspect.
Um, pleased refrain from spreading unsubstantiated comments. Link the article you read this from or I will not believe it. In other shocking news...Electricity. Don't get zapped into thinking that it is the best thing since sliced bread.
Right about now I'd be expecting -25C weather in the GTA... but it's +2C, feels like -3C with windchill. Thank god for global warming.
Yeah a lot of stuff have almost doubled in price and with more prices rising coming in April when gas and lekky go up again.
Even I here in Austria have heard it on the radio, that the major storm's coming towards the NE of North America. Stay safe guys
And I have nothing to show off with - temps are around 0 for several days and rains. Worst weather for winter. We had a couple of weeks of -10C started in the end of November, though...
