Disabling multithreaded rendering increased my FPS from 72 to 88 in the same scene.

Epic will donate all Fortnite proceeds over the next two weeks to humanitarian efforts in Ukraine

A good move from Epic and Microsoft, that will help many in need of humanitarian relief.
I think this is at the start of a season, when the game makes more money. So it's probably going to earn a lot of money help people.

Hate the new update, they removed the ability to walk in both PvE and PvP... sprinting only.

I have never walked or seen anybody walking in Fortnite. Ever.

That's because they're all 12 years old and don't have patience.

Correct me if I am wrong but I can't find DLSS anywhere in the settings?

It seems to have been removed and replaced with Epic's TSR which is HORRENDOUS!!!

Way waaaaaaaaaay worse than even FSR1!! Their "epic" preset sets resolution to 66%!! Its absolutely hideous!

    Just look at this!

    Untitled.jpg
THIS IS WITH THE CAMERA STILL NOT MOVING AT ALL!

Blurry, ghosting trails all over the screen!!!

They also added Nanite and Lumen which complete tanks performance even on lowest settings!

WTF have they done?? Can someone else check and see if you can find DLSS setting?

Tried TSR as well, it's plagued with bad artifacts sadly.

It was updated to UE 51.
Maybe the plugins for DLSS and FSR are still not ready for UE 5.1

Apparently The Doom Slayer, Geralt of Rivia, The Hulk & the youtuber "Mr. Beast" will be playable characters soon..... lol.

You can unlock the doom Slayer as part of the battle pass.

I am getting better performance in Save the World now.

Still suffers from hitching though, it happens when the game registers certain events from yourself and other players.

aaaand it look pretty bad ass imho.

TSR implementation is a little sad though. Ghosting on allot of stuff. Thought they would have given it more love by now.

  15. This will be another disappointment, because it drops below 60FPS even on RTX4090 in 4K @ Ultra(Epic). It looks really nice though :)

TSR and the new improved TAA implementation are fantastic, and fully compatible with everything you can render and will preserve the initial artistic intention, while DLSS will apply sharpening everywhere and is not compatible with depth of field (well it negates it anyway).
That being said, DLSS 2+ does look fantastic, preserve and amplify small details, looks stable and remove jaggies.

Doesn't take away TSR and the new TAA are fantastic in UE5, you can open any scene in UE4, and reopen it in UE5 it's shocking.

No more DLSS with this update to the UE 5.1 engine. Only TSR is available right now. Probably will get patched in later though.

No it isn't. Its plagued with some of the worse ghosting I've ever seen. Its even inferior to FSR1. Check out my screenshot below.

Nanite and Lumen are also really really bad. Sure the game looks way better with them but the performance costs are insane. My 3080Ti loses around 100fps+ with them enabled at their max settings. Nanite was meant to increase IQ whilst not destroying performance. If it loses this much performance with a game like fortnite it doesn't bowd well for more taxing games.

Set virtual shadows to medium and Lumen to high, then 4090 should be able to hit 140fps in 4k DLSS performance (once it's back).
Thing is TSR is expensive sh*t, it even reduces CPU bound performance. Hopefully DLSS won't, but if that is connected to some Nanite bias, it perhaps will as well...

Also noticed setting postprocessing to high is quite expensive now vs. medium, while it's the opposite with effect details.
