Running 8700K @ 5.0Ghz (all cores) + RTX 3060 Ti + 1440p monitor. Its a sweet spot and even new games run really well on my rig, but I want to "ascend" to 4K OLED gaming and I think I'm going to obtain 3 things: 1. OLED 4K display (LG OLED C2 4K TV or Alienware OLED Widescreen 3440x1440 monitor) 2. RTX 4080 3. Intel i5 13600K + Z690/Z790 (+ possibly DDR5 RAM and new cooler) I need all 3 to get good framerate in games at 4K (or 3440x1440), but I can only get one of the 3 at a time over period of 3-4 months. I don't know what to get first and second... If I get 13600K + Z690/Z790 first, then my RTX 3060 Ti becomes bottleneck. If I get RTX 4080 first then my 8700K becomes bottleneck. If I get 4K OLED display first, then I can't get decent framerate because both CPU and GPU become bottleneck. This is going to be the most expensive upgrade... - $700-900 for CPU + motherboard, $900-1200 for display, $1300-1500 for GPU. These prices are insane, just insane... What are market expectations? Will prices fall in first half of 2023? If so, then maybe I can wait, especially since new OLED displays are announced by LG and MSI and other manufacturers.
Wait a month or so for stock to build up and get a 4090 and whatever monitor you want. Watch hardware unboxed best monitors of this year and read rting reviews and decide what you want.
GPU > OLED > CPU I did OLED first, no regrets as I am a huge horror movie fan but for gaming, GPU first.
he will be fine with 8700k @ 5ghz. even messy bf2042 cant fully load mine 8700 @4 ghz and gameplay is smooth 100+ fps all the time
