You didn't read my follow up post. When 4090Ti comes out (with 10-13% more shaders over the 4090) the 4080/12 going to be at 33-35% against the 4090Ti like all other x60

Yeah, maybe, but now, there are already comparisons out there. With 4090 24GB VRAM in PCIe3.0x16 almost no difference... not sure about a 12GB 4080... couldnĀ“t be tested yet....
With an Alder Lake you will get 20 PCIe lanes, well, now it depends on how MB manufacturers will connect the available lanes...
Remember you need 4 lanes min. for NVMe (direct storage). So maybe with 2x NVMe drives, "only PCIe5.0x8" for GPU left?

Somehow I have the feeling that the 4080 "16 GB" will even have trouble competing with the old 6900XT from AMD which is now discounted to less than $800, maybe win only in 4K
The new 7800XT about to launch in less than 3 weeks will most likely wipe the floor with it, while probably not costing more than a 6900XT is currently selling at.

Good luck to NV selling these at $1200 when a $800 card will beat it soundly.

I think both 4080's are far less impressive than 4090 especially 12gb which is one of the reasons they "unlanched" the card. When your 4080 raster performance is 11% higher than 3080 you know you failed. Not even frame generation could save it.

    Excellent News.
Also DLSS3 is extremely important for gaming, a reason in itself to buy 4xxx series.
Now there is no reason to buy 5xxx and i can stay with 4xxx until 6xxx comes out.
the DLSS3 will add longevity to GPU
DLSS3 will make ray tracing 4K/120 a reality

I said before hoping it would not happen but DLSS is being use as crutch vs native performance gains. DLSS is GREAT tool you can run 4k60 or even 120+ on your 4k monitor where native would struggle to do 4k60 so technically your monitor is getting 4k feed instead of have to scale less res to 4k. it can reduce your temps in process too. but put all the develop in to DLSS dont help less the game support it if dont support it is useless so basically it useless to alot games that could use it that will never get patch so it can be used. Performance gains at native res 4k should before DLSS as DLSS should use as last resort when native can cut it, and funny haha 4090 barely push 62 fps at 4k with Raytracing in CP2077 and from what i reading with out raytracing 70 ish, that not huge performance gain imo in native, most charts show by nvidia are show gaing from DLSS stand point. Now if Nvidia or hell even AMD/INTEL made the tech a function of CP that would WORK in all games that would be game changer for ALL brands all games and everyone but i dont think it would be possible.

now as for 4090 it new titan i guess. and 4080 16gb($1199) price is ridiculous high to point it make more sense to buy 4090 ($1599) from performance to price stand point. if i had that kind money to burn and didnt care about power requirements and heat and the cost that all out touch with reality. I would get 4090 but i would never buy gpu at those prices ( i have hard time stomaching the fact that 3060ti or more expensive then 1070ti) and i expect 4060ti price point to jump again. yes i get "inflation" and cost to "build" are going up but the increases are going way beyond all that and is pure greed imo

The cards were already 2 years late..... It was either launch them or write off the entire project.
Rumor is that 4090Ti has already been scrapped by Nvidia.....

You should try some FSR2.0 mod to get a feel of DLSS2 (like 90% of what DLSS offer). They are not last resort solution, the general recommendation by almost everyone is having them on by default because they improve the gaming experience.

Honestly 4080 would already be in overkill zone for 4K Native with VRR, should be getting 100-120FPS in almost all games at 4K Native. In the few AAA games that pushes next-gen graphics (RT), DLSS/FSR2.0 should be available 100% of the time.

So yeah, if people are okay with current gen graphics, why buy next gen GPU in the first place? can anyone here even distinguish when game is running at 100FPS vs 200FPS without the FPS counter?

We'll know tonight whether TITAN Ada 48GB GDDR7 is really needed for NV.
