I currently have a 3080ti and for my Monitors I'm using a MSI 32" 2k screen that I picked up craigslist and a LG C1 which I just love.
However yesterday morning I got a Samsung G9 Neo Ultrawide for $1550 plus tax which I thought was a really good deal.
so I have a L shaped desk setup where my C1 is on the long part of the desk as my main Monitor.
Does it make sense for me then to move my C1 to the short end and put the G9 on the long end for a dual setup?
I figured I'll use the G9 for gaming and the C1 for 4k movies and Discord.
Someone on discord said DP1.4 and HDMI 2.1 don't share their bandwidth so I can still get 120hz via HDMI for my C1 and 240hz for the G9 with Display port?
the G9 is technically a 2.5k screen if understand correctly? or am I getting that wrong?
I hope my 3080ti can actually drive 240hz.

The G9 is 5120x1440p. So people some times call it 2.5k... just slang for it being a little lower than 4k but higher than 2k.

Sounds good to me. Worst that could happen is you swap it back. Also pics :D

I would. The 240Hz mode is only available via the DP connection and it's worth using. Even if your not going to be gaming all the time at frame rates that can really exploit it :)

Just so you know, 2k is 1080p (1920x1080). The "k" figure relates to a rounding of the horizontal pixel resolution so in the previous figure 1920 rounded to 2000, 2k. 1440p, 2560x1440 is 2.5k, 2560 rounded to 2.5. 3840x2160, 3840 rounded to 4k.

5120x1440 would actually be 5k (despite it having a total lower amount of pixels than UHD 4k), due to it's very wide horizontal res.
