Turns out it was exactly what I had thought it was, chipset driver was the cause... not a single issue since going back.

 

At least the system is not borked like mine was

Just want to share than this last version seems better for the curve optimizer, i was able to push up the values on some cores. Core cycler running strong for sometime now.

I went from 16 to -17 on core 0 and was able to achieve -30 on core 2 and 4. Rest of the values are the same.

Saw those earlier today.
At least, on Windows 11, the PSP driver is the only thing newer vs v4.09.23.507
Might skip till AMD releases a new pack in their site.

I like this new package. Last few ones had very few updated components, so it was more of the same. This one has bug fixes. My laptop is also snappy like when it was new again, as I noted some latency crept into the system. Watching a Backblaze cloud backup of large files would cause it to choke on itself, with a lot of "Preparing: filename" to linger on the screen. I'm redoing a drive to the cloud atm, which has my audio library on it, and the backup is going much more smoothly and faster.

 

Updated my MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk to the latest drivers and now get this error in Windows update. Have tried running retry about 6 times to no avail. Any suggestions?

There are newer drivers out now. Try and remove your old ones and install the latest version.

Also go into this folder and delete everything there.

C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

delete all contents and reboot system. This deletes any downloaded updates through windows update.

you may need to delete everything in

C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\

but try and delete the downloads folder first.

 

What's even more odd...these are the versions that came with the new Chipset drivers....hmmm!
Would just like to find a way to hide these until they are gone...

 

If you haven't tried it already, I'd pause updates and resume them to see if it clears those updates.

 

Do what I said in my previous post.

1 uninstall your current chipset drivers (download new ones, dont install yet)

2 delete the downloads folder in software distribution folder inside the windows folder.

3 disable internet and reboot PC

4 install latest chipset drivers

5 reboot PC and then check windows update again

the drivers should now be gone from windows update.

also the version number of each component inside the driver package doesn't always change but fixes are applied.

 

Will give that a try and report back
