Did you miss the part where we finally have a GPU that can play high refresh at 4K with high/ultra settings? The only thing bad about it is the extortionate price.

Got to say.. In a world in which AMD releases its new CPUs with 15-20% perf. improvements gen to gen (5900x->7900X), it impresses me to see Nvidia managing to get such a performance gap between generations.

I have only found one review that did it. Actually, rather impressive at 250w limit its beating a 3090 Ti at 3DMARK.

Well, being very direct, what a beast at 4K, a big jump in performance. At lower resolutions is impossible to have good metrics because is bottlenecked. Lets now combine this performance with new Game Engines like Unreal 5, or others, and create really great games.

    Don't compare apples and oranges.

FYI, the top RDNA3 series are MCM cards.

Well, as it was discussed in another topic, time to move to my parents basement...

Set the power limit to 75%, put a water block on it and you have a card twice as powerful as the previous Gen best with possibly a lower powerdraw. Unless AMD can pull a massive rabbit out the hat, il be going 4090.

No offense, but you would be a fool to do it by lowering power limit... what you wanna do is undervolt...

I watched the DeBauer vid, unless i misunderstood him, he said undervolting was far inferior to lowering the power target.
Its at about the 18:00 point he mentions it.

This is pretty exciting, though I'm disappointed I won't be getting a 4080 16G AIO from EVGA. It's been years and years since I've not had an EVGA GPU. I'm guessing the thing will undervolt like a champ as my 3080 did. Think I'll be buying ASUS this time.

ed- or lowering the power limit as previous post suggests.

I was not expecting such a huge leap in performance, regardless of DLSS3. Granted, it's a huge increase in transistors and the wattage is still unappealing, but compared to a 3090, this would be an obvious choice if it were affordable.

I have no idea how AMD expects to respond to this.

I dont care what he said or didnt say - lowering power limit will still make it boost like crazy when you dont need it, wasting power, and then drop alot lower than it would if you undervolted instead, when it's under pressure, due to default mhz for each MV being alot lower than what you can usually get it stable at yourself with undervolt.

Watch his video, look at the results from both using the power target and undervolting, make your choice.
He did mention that the card doesnt work in the same way as previous cards.

AMD said that 7900 XT will be at least 50% faster when compared to 6950 XT at the same wattage consumption (350w), so if they will make 7900 XT 400w it should be enough to compete with 4090, the question is how its RT performance will compare..
They could also just compete with 4080 16GB with the price/performance.
Interesting times in both CPU and GPU world, wish the prices in Europe were closer to US tho lol
