This was Kate Murtagh. She is, if you had the album, know here name tag as Libby. There she is doing a fake statue of liberty. She died 4 years ago aged 97 and in the pic' she is 95. Un-be-known to me she was a big star in her own right (comedian) and it shows. I have the album on blu ray. I just stumbled across this image whilst trawling the net. I guess I made a good catch. I was just a kid when the Album came out and so none of the glamour or artistry registered with me at that age. But now I see a triumph. I will listen to the album tomorrow. Almost forgot I owned it.
Probably the best recording of this piece, even better than the original. (Which I believe was also a live rendition re-worked into a live/studio hybrid.) Like so many KC works, there is that, "Just a moment... Just a moment... I've just picked up a fault in the AE-35 unit" segment. Wouldn't be a King Crimson tune, otherwise. His Excellency, Baron Fripp is in his usual location, at stage left.
You can`t imagine the level of popularity of studio version of "Jesus Christ Superstar" back in USSR.
