The 5700XT serves me well past 3 years and seems will do the foreseeable future.
All the games works well at 1440p and usually 25-30% faster than Windows, as I am using Clear Linux. (I know the irony on a full AMD machine but..,..)

Europe doesn't always get shafted most ppl just fail to account that in the EU there's already a 20% vat tacked on and in Canada for example we pay 13% when we buy it that u guys don't see and the US has the best prices and lowest taxes overall but again the tax is tacked on when the card is purchased so it looks cheaper than it is

of course he has to say that.
and not everyone will still have their jobs at the same position and may have a harder time to reach incentives.

the reality is their employees are in the most expensive place to live in America.
most rents far exceed mortgages elsewhere and the cost of living is the highest.
anywhere else in America i might be considered wealthy, here i'm middle class because of the high costs.

i've been a stockholder for well over 15 years and i know posturing when i see it.
notice no mention here of what's buried in the financials... like losing 20% re: mining

    It does look like "posturing".
I didn't include all what he said
They will cut all wasted processes, recourses and materials.... "But not staff".
    We will see.
    I'm taking notes.

look at all these clowns that think forward projections are so simple that nvidia must have sold gpu's to miners directly from the gaming line.

    lmao.

No, nvidia is downcasting because of the gpu's sold by MSI directly to miners, and the cards miners bot-purchased in mass from etailers re-entering the market as second hand.

Cards sold do not equal GPUs sold, which is what actually gets Nvidia revenue. Once those GPUs are sold Nvidia does not earn or lose money based on card prices (inflated ones in mining boom and supply issues, deflated ones when selling off stacked up inventory before next gen's launch). The reaction from graphics cards sales to GPU sales is an indirect, timely delayed one.
I'd be more curious to see how the AIBs are now ordering / reserving GPUs at Nvidia compared to Ampere's launch, to see if there really is a decline in these numbers.

I can afford $200 for a GPU and I am not happy with 1630. So I chose to go with AMD.

    .
Most GPUs in Poland have dropped in price by up to 50% since January, I'd call that lowering prices.

Ok, I did some more digging, lowest drop I found was on 3090Tis, ~32%, highest on stock 3090s and 3060s, ~56%.

    A RTX 3070 is 650 Euro where I live.
    A GTX 1070ti was 450 Euro.
    A GTX 970 was 325 Euro.
And this is coupled with post-pandemic austerity, war economies, incoming winter with likely huge electricity and gas prices.
    No thanks.

Yeah I'm still waiting for 60 series to go back down to normal pricing but most of them are still literally double the normal price of where 60 series historically have been priced at.

if either Nvidia or AMD were private companies then they could lower retail pricing for competitive advantage and just earn a lower profit for a generation. but they cannot.

the first responsibility for both is not enthusiasts, it's stockholders who expect a return on their investment.
this is true for every publicly listed company in the world.

    Bad news:
ETH global hash rate is increasing again, along with prices for GPUs in all classes.
This follows a significant and steady increase in ETH "price", from the low 900'ish about 1.5 months ago to over 1900 today

Looks like we, gamers, are not out of the woods yet :(

isn't the changeover to POS mining going to impact GPU hashing by itself?
honestly asking as i do not mine

Idk where but in EU geitzhalz price comparison it's still the same.

Rtx 3080 from 790-850e on avg, it's the only gpu im interested atm.. and that is still overkill
