    Seems I'm having this exact issue with W10 build 19044.1826 and it's not limited to explorer.exe:

    this is a fresh install of W10 too. The fuq?

    EDIT: solved, there are 2 user accounts and other one was still logged in. Logging out of the other removed duplicate entries.
    I hadn't remembered to disable the setting for "finalize updates using these credentials..." from user account settings for the other account.

    for easy example, RPCS3 OpenGL backend require GL_NV_texture_barrier,GL_NV_depth_buffer_float to properly function.. it'll still run but some innacuracy would happen

    That ... or use Zink from Mesa, even on Windows. I've yet to try to tinker with it though. Setup process looked complicated.

    One of the many caveats of OpenGL (and it's happening to Vulkan too), Vendor specific extensions - meaning other vendors either do not support it or have to add compatibility layers to support it - back in the day Nvidia were terrible for this so that they could have exclusivity for games.

    More Power Tool is completely broken with this driver, when i try to unlimit power for my 6600 XT, games shows 1-2 fps and artifacts, youtube videos like 1 fps playing.

    means if a piece of software makes use of a nVidia specific extension, you can encounter problems. It was an annoying issue in the past where non-standard extension wouldn't get implemented by everyone (or couldn't be if it called for a feature implemented by a vendor in a proprietary way). You can see a modern example of this in Wolfinstien: Young Blood. Which use's nVidia only Vulkan extensions for the RayTracing implementation. Meaning that for that title, the RayTracing only works on nVidia hardware :rolleyes:

    In this case, because AMD seemingly rewrote the OpenGL part of the driver, they just haven't implemented all the extension that the previous OpenGL driver had yet.

    This is completely unrelated. That extension is specific to RPCS3. It's not broken, it's just not implemented yet in the new OGL UMDs.

    I was asking about FFVIII Remastered specifically. If you're suggesting this game also depends on that extension then fine, but I don't believe that's the case here.

    Yes, the first reddit post is about RPCS3.
    But, the second one is a list of all the ones missing from the drivers right now, which is related to FFVIII
