Not a insider issue, it’s an known issue in Windows 10/11 for some time now that Microsoft just fixed on 7/28/22.

I just ran (nasty cannot access the HDD fast enough) the borderlands 3 bench and the nasty stuttering and big frame drops stopped and it got replaced by 60fps, But now a crap tonne of micro stuttering. But yeah that is a way better result.

Perhaps in the context of VRR, such as VESA Adaptive Sync, rather than adaptive vsync

    22H2 is "stable" channel.

Wow, ULPS has been fixed, at least for me.

Has anyone run into a doubling of VRAM usage on OpenGL with this driver? I just did some back to back testing of Java Minecraft on my new RX 6600 with the 22.6.1 and 22.7.1 drivers, and with a 32 chunk render distance at 4K, on 22.6.1 it's using ~3.5-4GB of VRAM while 22.7.1 uses almost 8GB. The performance has obviously more than doubled, except if I load up a shader I now get an unplayable ~10fps as it pushes over the 8GB VRAM limit, whereas with 22.6.1 it was an unpleasant 25-30 and about 6GB of VRAM usage. Wonder if it's a memory leak of some sort, as leaving a world/server doesn't free up the VRAM until Minecraft is closed.

Using Windows 11 22H2 and latest 22.7.1 drivers.
Why it saying not supported ? Is it AMD or MS fault ?

Because AMD found, like many, that HAGS development is as slow as fixing Enhanced Sync. Instead they developed SAM. Don't expect any HAGS support until MS kicks it out of beta stage..

Microsoft introduced HAGS in W10 v2004 and then did nothing else with it for the past 2 years. Unfortunate.

I feel like W11 really should have been the push for HAGS, but I guess we all saw how the release went :/

It reminds me of how AMD skipped DXVA-HD implementation.

No like your missing out anything. HAGS is enabled for rtx20 and 30 series since w11 has been released and didnt notice any difference with it on/off.

well at the end nobody cares about DXVA-HD at all. half of features of the extension can be done better and properly with any modern Direct3D version while the other half can be done by display driver based on the screen and playback environment combo.

In the end yes. But nobody knows if in the future there will be something better. Is NVidia so stupid because they have both - DXVA-HD and Direct3D?

I tested this on my 6700XT and it doesn't happen...vsync at 60Hz is giving me constant 60fps and good frametimes. GPU usage does indeed drop to 50-60% but I don't see any stutters.
Drivers 22.7.1, 1440p and freesync enabled.

Idk...maybe some specific settings that I don't use ? Did you have fsr enabled or ray tracing? Borderless or Fullscreen ? Some specific resolution or it doesn't matter ?!

    fsr was enabled
    1440p no RT
borderless and full screen both show the same issue
