Everything points out to very end of the year and that could be high end offering so what about midrange cards? Nvidia could very well delay them to q1 2023.

Im curious if amd will do the same.

"Moore's Law Is Dead's sources" oh no, this guy love hearing his own voice. 99.5% of the time "his" sources are wrong.

They can't delay due to RDNA 3.

Anyways, i can wait. RTX 3000 cards are still well above MSRP, so i'm not interested.

Over here in Finland, it's plain as day that shops are heavily cutting down on graphics cards inventory and are pretty lazy about dropping the prices any further. In fact, one of the most popular PC hardware stores has actually again raised the prices of graphics cards, so any movement toward the MSRP was reversed before the MSRP (adjusted by taxes and model) was reached. Not all shops have raised prices again, but they all have less models and less stock available. They are clearly preparing for the next gen and aren't particularly counting on selling significant numbers of the still current gen anymore. This is quite funny to keep in mind when you read these news about Nvidia possibly postponing the 4000 series because too much old stock remains.

Used prices are at msrp if you dare buying a card that has been mining for last year and half.

Alright, if they choose to do so, they won't sell 40 series cards as fast as they think, while sitting on a pile of 30 series cards nobody wants any more.

After 2 years of being seeing all these tech companies and resellers, trying to ripoff consumers, I can only hope they suffer a bit, to know how it feels to betray their costumer base.

Absolute nonsense. This only proves the initial leaks were bogus - or made up entirely.

Exactly. Nvidia has been selling gpus directly to miners with a word "we care about gamers" here is the hash limiter bs

Its funny how cards ware inflated and scalped and now no one wants to buy them :D

Nvidia is not only concerned about inventory, but must also consider AMDs launch of their cards, which presumably is on track in 4th quarter (October?). If AMD launches first, Nvidia will have to release soon after.

If they have too many 30 series left they can just re brand them as 40 series. Was pretty common in the past.

Didnt nvidia said they plan to sell 40 series along with 30 series? That scenario seems more likely.

Oh dear, Nivida have no control over the second hand market........so i assume the RTX 50xx cards will comes with a code that will lock it to your PC hardware. Lol

People buying used GTX 3xxx cards are not going to turn around and buy a GTX 4xxxx card.
Sell the 4xxx's at a reasonable price and I think many will skip the used cards.

AMD may also push their hand.

Not sure what they are thinking.
90% of consumers would happily buy something between a 3060 and 3080 happilty at a decent price.
The people that prorder the 4090 are that small handful of customers that doesn't give a shite about a used 3080 or 3090.

New product line releases aren't usually affected by current stock. Well, they do, but mostly using pre-calculated estimates, not actual availability right now.
Especially in a market with just 2 players, with one of them practically monopolizing the top tier segment.
The 4090 won't trade blows in performance with the 3090, not even near. This will also apply to the price.
1500€ will buy you a last gen flagship, you'll have to fork out a lot more for the best in the world right now.
nVidia can afford to offer retailers stock protection, which means they can cover some of the "loss" retailers will have if they sell 30s series cards after the 40s series launch.
I know people would wish to buy a 3090 for 800€, but nVidia needs the 3090s to be relatively expensive so the 4090s can be as expensive as they can get..
