Hi team, I'm not quite sure what happened but my machine will not go into windows, I cannot repair it and have tried all the restart options. I have tried to re install win 11 and have made a USB stick etc, but now it tells me that my machine is not able to run win 11. I am stuck
And you failed to load from USB stick with Win11? Try to load from USB stick with Win10. PS In old days the number one advice was to clear the CMOS. PPS Also you can try any other bootable images like Rescue Live CDs (usually Linux), Memtest UEFI bootable disks - just to be sure that HW is working.
To check whether HW is working and then - yes - to try upgrade path. (Or to stay with Win10.) PS I am still staying away from Win11. The OS is too young.
Maybe I can do the old clear the cmos, will that help make the machine be win11 ready? And what is HW?
Perhaps your BIOS has reset. Go into your BIOS and ensure CSM is disabled, enable Secure Boot (to Standard settings) and enable TPM then see if Windows 11 will install.
Hey Thanks team Guru3D I am going again, but it feels like someone else's shoes! It was indeed a problem with the bios, thanks you Astyanax but how does that happen?
Windows update might have pushed down a uefi firmware update which wiped your settings or battery failed during a power outage could have been due to anything.
I have. On friend`s laptop I noticed update named like "system firmware" - it was flashed right in Windows - and after I checked it was new BIOS version. But here we do not talk about BIOS update. We talk about BIOS settings reset.
my Dell laptop had two firmware updates in the last month or two. It's a Coffeelake so I was a little surprised.
I had an MSI board that updated bios through windows when I had my Clawhammer chip, I think it was a K9 board? Forgot but anyhow ...... But it was an MSI update not windows doing it.
