Looking for a multiplayer game

Hello,

I am looking for a multiplayer shooter. I want it to be a simple shooter with no experience/inventory/level upgrade and i don't want it to be something like CS:GO where you have a round system, you die and then wait 5 minutes to respawn. It would be great if it would be free or cheap and could be played even on a little older C2D system with 9800 gtx.

Years ago we played FEAR: Combat Evolved. It was free and was perfect, you login and shoot, die, respawn, shoot die, etc.

Suggestions welcome.

 

Have you played Battlefield 4?
Very cheap to buy. There are still a few thousand people playing. And it's a lot of fun.

 

Quake Champions? do people still play that?

 

Thanks. For now i would like it to be free (2 of 3 who wish to play are against paying for games). Even quake 3 people still play but i think i played to much quake 3 to be interested. In the meanwhile i found out people still play fear combat evolved i belive it was called. We might try that, but if any new suggestions still pop up, it would be great

The game is dead due to idiotic decisions by Bethesda to microtransaction the hell out of it. Oh, Oh and Bethesda's biggest crime is the omittance of a server browser.

Can you fathom the dribbling executives deciding this was a good idea?

It came to Steam a couple of days ago, so should be plenty of active. And it's as simple as it gets.

 

Yes, for example, it got 2407 player yesterday. On Steam alone.
Considering this game released first on Origin, and only many years later on Steam, there is bound to be much more people playing there.

 

Had the same idea of posting this, since it's definitely doesn't need too much of an up to date PC, and is pretty fun.

The early Unreal Tournament games should also run on an old system, as well as the Battlefield series such as 1942 and Vietnam.

All those still have an active player base.

 

ohh... 9800gtx, well disregard Halo Infinite, I barely meet minimum with what I have.

 

Is Planetside 2 still a thing? Haven't played in years but that was pretty fun
