Chit thought Asus was caught up on my X470, but for my CH VII board the newest bios is ... AGESA V2 PI 1.2.0.6b But that should run the 5800x when I get it.

Just noticed Asus released new beta Agesa 1.2.0.7 bios for my board.... is there anywhere to read information about what new Agesa versions do exactly?

All Asus writes for the bios is "Update AMD AM4 AGESA V2 PI 1.2.0.7".

It's a tough decision for me, for gaming, I'll definitely see a boost since I'm just at 1080p (maybe will get 1440p later on in the line, so long as it's 144hz or above but while staying at 24") but the real reason is for video and photo editing.

I don't necessarily need to upgrade, but it's just so tempting.

Honestly im tempted but also dont need to upgrade. Im at 3440x1440 and most of the time gpu limited dont know if i would even see the difference.

Still, i already sold my 2700x today to a friend needed a cpu asap so i have a few options...

    Came across used 3700x for 50$ difference, 3800x 60$ difference, 3900x 100$ difference or a brand new 5800x 200$ difference.

I'd go 5800X (or 5700X) in your case, 3(7or8)00X you wouldn't see much difference from the 2700X, particularly with how well yours overclocked

i had some start issues but i must say with manual ram oc and just pbo values set manual with +100mhz and 185w/115/95A with auto core curve i‘m hitting 5000/5050 peaks… manual scalar 3x with docs vid 1.300 and 47.25 per ccx… with threshold 53A / 75‘C. until now running good with 1.2.0.7 beta on dark hero

Ps: Can someone tell me difference between running B0 in Eco Mode vs B2? :) i still somehow see B2 as B0 but made to run in eco mode in order to works well with smaller PSU build in usual by mainstream companies… like ryzen 5900x/3080 gpu and than 700W psu? i dont know. Are there b2 specs around so we can compare?

Well i could not make myself paying 330Eur for 5800x and i picked up used 3800x for 170eur so thats 50eur + my 2700x which i sold today for 120eur. Atleast i have pcie4 for my nvmes now and slightly faster cpu.

Meh, it will hold up until zen4 releases which was my original plan.
