One way i can instantly tell that it's not running in actual 4k is that rtss overlay gets larger at lower res, and smaller at higher res. Look at how big it is there, compared to at 4k Or 8k for that matter https://i.imgur.com/UfrCeIm.jpg
I think it's rendering 100% at a lower output res - if you look at the image itself, it's only 1920x1080. So i think it's just being run at 1080p, plain and simple.
Just turn on high dpi scaling in exe properties. I run 5K quality 4, with reshade, 20 fps I still see some vaseline though. Msi AB rt display shows small sentences in the same size it used to be when running 5K, but it still looks like upscaling. Wil check r.TSR.History.ScreenPercentage=200 It realy has to be added in engine.ini? I see total different commandlines there beginning with pathsxxxx...
Okay interesting, so after i got the game to actually run at 4k, i could set the resolutionquality to 50, which gets the "game" to nearly the same fps as 1080p, but looks a hell of alot better. It does have alot of smearing in motion from the upscaling though (as seen on the white truck) - not anywhere near as good as the results with dlss.
Gotta say though... i'd forgive people for thinking these were real images at some points ! What impresses me the most though, is the LOD system... no visible pop-in, even at very fast flying speeds ! Gotta have it on a fast nvme drive to not get stutters though.
About nighttime. I'm assuming I have to use UE5 in Epic Launcher to play at night which I can't get any samples to work yet. Hope someone knows another way. Unless I have to wait hours in real time for it to cycle to night.
You do not need epic launcher. Press letter o to bring up menu or start button on controller and just switch it to nighttime in system menu.
