AMD has provided an closer look at its upcoming Ryzen 6000 series mobile CPUs. With slimmer, lighter, and more energy-efficient designs, the company hopes to gain a leading position in the laptop sect... AMD 6nm Zen3+ Ryzen 6000 Rembrandt SoC
Well, I'm all in for the new Desktop Ryzen 7000 APUs: a full new computer without a GPU will be less expensive than any single GPU worth upgrading to so, APU it will be!
lol i just posted in the forum. how unfair the planet's got to spin...earlier embargo lifting for you
I wonder how these compared to PS5 and XBX?! AMD is making great SoC! Spec wise it appears to surpass my aging desktop and probably a great alternative to CPU/GPU scalping for now.
Why would there be no APUs? desktop only does not mean no APUs, there have been desktop APUs for every generation except the 1000 series. 6000 series APUs is what i don't believe will happen, but even that who knows, afterall there were 4000 series APUs
Wasnt the ryzen 5000 apus based on zen2? I think 5800u is the only zen3 apu. I think amd plan to sell zen3+ apus alongside zen4 cpus. But yeah later on there will be zen4 7000 apu probably.
no 7000 APUs solid. 7000 series are fabbed @ 5nm w/o iGPU no room on die for it (for now). 6000 APUs are @ 6nm w/ rdna 2 iGPU
Do we know the size of the dies? Do we have any real expectation as to why they'd be larger dies then Zen 3 at 7nm? which has APUs? Do we know if the I/O die will be the same size? What do we know that makes the statement of no 7000 APUs? Plus, why would it be possible for AMD to do it on their mobile APUs with RDNA 2 but it'd be too large on their desktop? Desktop doesn't have to worry? Desktop has more room? Like i'm not saying 100% anyone is wrong but i fail to see where this thought is coming from I know of no desktop ryzen 5000 APU on Zen 2, but on Zen 3. All desktop 5000 APUs are Cezanne, which are Zen 3. https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/amd/cores/cezanne#:~:text=Cezanne is the codename of,Ryzen 4000 "Renoir" series.&text=The Ryzen 5000 series was,2021 keynote for CES 2021
Nice they beefed up the gpu back to 768 shaders combined with ddr5 this should be a beast. Can't wait to see the desktop version 5600g at 2300mhz and ddr4 4133mhz is already a beast for what it is.
I am VERY impressed... Now I understand why M$ states that their future Ryzen 6000 Surface laptop 5 will have better battery life (21 hours) than Intel Gen 12 ones (19 hours): https://mylaptopguide.com/surface-laptop-5-tech-specs-leaked-by-windowsprime/ And it might even be an understatement (or overstatement on Gen 12).
You will be waiting a while. Desktop APU's in the 7000 series lineup will be using Zen3+ cores not Zen4 from what I have seen so far. You are looking at a 2023 release at the earliest.
Irrelevant for me the cpu is already massively overkill for the igpu in the APU I'm after maximum igpu performance without a dedicated gpu
RNDA2 will need DDR5 to shine, but I'm fairly sure that iGPU will still get a nice bump even with DDR4.
I had the impression that all rumors pointed to Raphael lineup to come with an iGPU. And that there was no plan to have CPU without iGPU at first (variant could come out in 2023 without it) But there has been no official announcement/statement, so i would not ruled out an iGPU, wether it's all the lineup or only some CPUs.
