Only new setting in video.scr is:

    !DistanceBlur(i) // 0=disabled, 1=enabled

Tried the 85 and it works. It looks even better than fsr uq. You can use any value and set it to read only. Changing the fsr ingame setting reset to default until you restart the game.

FSR UQ has a value of 77%. So a value of 85% has to look better.
But with 85%, how does it compare to native? Both in performance and image quality?

10fps more for 85% compared to native and the quality is surprisingly good. I think i'll play it like this becouse my rx580 is already stuggling at high settings.

Just trying out some mods from nexus.

This one is a must, game looks so much cleaner

    Holy Moly.
FSR UQ is actually working

FSR UQ 85% vs Native vs FSR Q
Look at the shadows under the truck on the left. They appear only with FSR UQ enabled !
    https://imgsli.com/OTUyNDU
FSR UQ gives performance boost (47 vs 57fps) and looks better!! I also have 60% sharpen in radeon settings, don't know if this works in this configuration.

Inside location, you can clearly see the lighting is different.

    Rainy weather,
whole picture looks different- looks the best with FSR UQ in game
    https://imgsli.com/OTUyNDk/0/1

    What... is... going... on... here...

    Settings used:
    Scale3D(0.850000)
    FSR(1.000000)
    Upscaler(3)
    Upscaling(3)
    +
    RIS 60%, sry for oversharpening

Also because you have now sharpness on and with native you cant, its greyed out because sharpness option is only availabe when upscaling.

Using ris with fsr makes the game oversharpened. It looks best with fsr sharpness 10 and ris disabled.

I mean, I have Radeon Image Sharpening in Radeon Settings at 60%, not ingame.

Anyway, let's enjoy performance boost with image quality boost before somebody turns if off again :D

Image seems a bit over sharpened. I like a bit of sharpening, especially when TAA is blurry. But that seems a too much.

Some graphical effects are dependent on screen resolution.
So that may account for those differences. Or maybe the game can't deal with FSR at 85% and sets incorrect LODs.

Great game! I loved first one, and this game is so much fun!!
In every aspect better than first one!

Combat is 20x better than in first one!

-stutters in video are from MSI Afterburner recorder, not gameplay

Fxck FSR, DLSS, etc, play the game and have fun!
You dont like it? OK, thell that one time, maybe two and leave it...
    _______

    My biggest WTF??
In this game flashlight si not casting real time shadows!! WTF?
Bigger problem for me than how game looks in FSR or DLSS mode!

That's not the bigger take away here imho. Look at the shadows and distance fog... they shouldn't change like that just because FSR got flipped on.

Well, FSR Q looks like vomit. FSR UQ gives big performance boost and preserves image clarity. It looks like it also enables missing shadows / SSAO. This is actually a big improvement. If you mean oversharpen, sry, maybe my settings applied 2x sharpen like I said. On my screen it looks... very good in game. I have RIS enabled permanently for all games.

Shadows on last screen - I was getting blinded from the sun at that spot, you can see godrays. With FSR UQ off, there was no such effect.

That's just negative mipmap Bias, which developers use in conjunction with DLSS/FSR to reduce detail loss. Without proper AA this can cause shimmering though, I did notice more shimmering with FSR UQ.

    imo there's a threshold where a spatial upscaler is useable,and it's not 67%
it can look really good, but at ~85%
dafuq is wrong with this,it's so oversharpened it looks grainy.
btw fsr uq is 77%,just for the record.

It s funny how suddenly u have dying light 2 huge open world, and it s not a matter of cpu anymore...it s a matter of gpu with 8gb of vram struggling for no apparent reason other than unoptimization from the devs end....it s really ironic..

fsr uq 85% looks almost good as native and runs pretty decent. Im happy how it runs and looks considering the age of the card and how demanding the game is. Freesync also helps smoothing things out becouse fps do hover between 50-60fps.
