Color grading of Remastered apparently is still unbearable vs. original C1.

I can complain that it never should of released in the state it was in. Or that they can do better. But with the state of developers on PC I have to give credit where it's due and acknowledge at least they did something and made decent progress. Good on them.

Ok, now I can play this again. Looks totally different from what it was at launch.

Here are some screenshots I took just now for comparison between the original game and remastered (with update).

For a single player shooter the frame rate at very high + DLSS works fine for me. Looks like I'm playing Crysis again :D

Wow, patch notes look promising. With current 55% sale on Steam, I might pick it up finally.

I don t know how people would buy a game that has dated animations, dated weapon models, movement...etc, i expected a product that is relevant as we are in 2021...

Ion Fury, Amid Evil and Ion Maiden, are my top 3 best games, that I played in 2020.
And I will put them above almost every AAA game released in the last decade.
The reason is simple: Gameplay always beats graphics.

    First of all, it's 2022. ;)
Second, this is a remaster of 2007 game. Not a remake.

Just installed and played for about 30 mins. It's been a LONG time since I played original Crysis. But this game still looks all right. I like it. But DLSS in this remaster is disappointing. It blurs too much and ghosting in motion is very evident.

i can t take dated animations and movement and weapon models anymore, after playing bf4 and crysis 2, and then cod modern warfare 2019, every game should have the same smoothness, i can t get back to any older game for the simple fact that old games have dated animations.

Your choice, but you are missing out on some amazing games. Like those I mentioned earlier.

Best played in Delta difficulty if you want to feel like the Predator hunting soldiers in my opinion.

Last night I was fiddling around with the settings (unfortunately didn't have enough time to finish) and the ghosting seemed linked to motion blur (never did like that option in most games). Need to check that again today to make sure that's it or if I was just tired :D. As far as DLSS goes, it could be better but I've seen much worse in terms of image blur. Like I said previously, I liked the image quality in very high settings + dlss quality, though to be fair, I did play for just a little while.

I'd rather replay this whole campaign than spend the same time in BF2042 xD

That's your problem, really. There are genuinely fun, well made games that may look dated, but play better than many new.

Hmm, which version of DLSS library is it using? Maybe you can fiddle with that?

    It's using DLSS 2.1.55.0
I changed to version 2.3.7 and the game looks better.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Some people also prefer 2.2.11, but I'd wager it varies from game to game.

I didn't try 2.2.11 in this game. Might give it a try.
But a month ago I was playing the new Supraland. It also uses DLSS 2.1.55, or some number close to it.
I put the 2.3.6 dll, but it resulted in a ton of ghosting. And I mean, a lot of it.
I changed to DLSS 2.2.18 and the result was much better.

Even with DLSS 2.1.55.0, it looks amazing, especially on palm tree leaf edges (alpha textures), they are so smooth and while moving they don't lose quality. I mean its amazing that back in 2000s when crysis first launched I was obsessed with those leaf edges and fixed them by doing some SSAA on my old ATI card getting lower fps in return. And now DLSS does this, not only perfectly but also you get higher frame rates!

note: I also remember crysis had edgeaa technique which was the ancestor of fxaa that nvidia developed after, I guess crytek was working with nvidia back then on that aa technique. enforcing fxaa on crysis also fixes edges but not as good as ssaa or dlss.

Yeah, nvngx_dlss.dll within Crysis Remastered folder is 2.1.55
I was assuming that the latest Nvidia driver overrides game's DLSS with driver's DLSS if it's newer. But come to think of it, only games having this behavior (with driver) seems to be Cyberpunk 2077 and Control, I think. I'll try to replace the 2.1.55 DLL with newer one and see how it fares.

I would argue its better going back and playing the original than a remaster.
